Had an InKind discount for Bear Branch Tavern. Went for the NYE 2026 brunch specials and was not disappointed. Kicked off the new year w a southern traditional hoppin’ john stew and he had the hoppin’ john breakfast which added poached eggs (like a shakshuka) - both were delish! Kicked off my meal with half a dozen oysters and a Bloody Mary. You have to check out the customizable Bloody Mary bar… they offer extra mix, about a dozen pickled veggie options, celery, lemon, lime and more hot sauces than you could imagine. The oysters were served with a heaping portion of horseradish - which I love w my oysters and Bloody Mary and unlike most places, I didn’t even have to ask for it. Then, we got the poke tuna nachos. Wow! Huge slices of tuna. Soft texture and the flavor just sets in with each bite. Served with scoops or portions of seaweed salad (unlike most places where it’s barely added). He got a French martini. The bartender, Abrea, was great. Very personable and attentive, even in the midst of several tasks. She made the martini off the menu but suggested her personal touch of adding more citrus, which made it even dreamier if you like a real pop of citrus/tang to offset a sweeter drink. Don’t let the humble exterior of this place fool you, Bear branch Tavern is a spacious, cozy and modern restaurant with tasty southern comfort-style food (Carolinas/Georgia). Can’t wait to visit again to try the French dip, Niçoise salad and other brunch items!

This is like a beer brewery but classier. Poke Nachos? Come on! There was so much fresh seared tuna I started speaking Japanese. The Bloody Mary bar was loaded with choices. It was like Tinder, if no one lied and everyone was pretty. The food arrived fresh and fast as though Roadrunner was trying to beat the coyote to the bar. We sat at the bar and were amazed at the service by our mixologist Abrea. So to bottom line it we looked at this place for a few months and are now wondering why we didn’t come here sooner. Check it out when in V-Town.

Came here with friends on a Saturday for lunch. It's a bit confusing the 1st time, but the parking lot is actually in the back & the official entrance is in the rear of the building.
The inside has a sports bar vibe.
Service was good, seemed a bit busy but not slammed so not sure why the server was a bit scarce at times.
Had a decent selection of house beers and other drafts, so was pleased on that account.
Food was good and well prepared. I enjoyed the basic burger with my beloved tots. My wife had some chicken sandwich that was also good.
Overall a good experience, I will return.

Brought my dog, saw no one outside (I mean, it WAS rather cold), but they were more than happy to kick on the space heaters out there. Had a great time and they were more than accommodating!

We recently moved to the area and really wanted to find a new place to be our dinner/beer/sports spot. I think we found a winner!!!
The tempura cauliflower was soooo delicious!!! I could literally eat that as a meal 😆 The sandwiches were very delicious and went well with a nice cold beer.
Great food, great customer service and perfect spot for watching sports as well!

This is a fun place, and our waiter Ben was the best. We love going there for delicious and fresh one dollar oysters on tuesdays. And Ben recommended a perfect sandwich to follow. The atmosphere is fun with just the right mix of chill vibe and fun businesses. There is also live music some tuesdays. We love this neighborhood hang out and go with our neighbors often. It is perfect for a couple or a group of ten. You should try it.

Stopped by to grab drinks before dinner. Drinks were great and so was the service. Ended up just staying and having dinner. Embarrassed to say, but it ended up walking the entire building to find the entrance.
Absolutely love Bear Branch Tavern!
The staff here is always fantastic — friendly, attentive, and genuinely make you feel welcome every time. The food? Out of this world. Our go-to is always the French Onion Soup — hands down the best around!
You can’t go wrong with the Truffle Fries (seriously, it must be the Truffle Fries ✨). My personal favorite is the Chicken Bacon Avocado Sandwich, but I get it as a wrap — it’s perfection every single time. And don’t even get me started on the Chicken Nachos appetizer… total bomb dot com!
As a foodie, I can confidently say — everything here is amazing. Bear Branch Tavern never disappoints!
I’ll take more pictures of my food and less of the drinks 🤣
