I stopped by this food to-go spot on Saturday and ordered the chicken over rice bowl, which turned out to be a huge mistake. Not only was the food unappetizing, but it also left me with severe diarrhea that ruined my entire weekend. The chicken looks uncooked. The portion was ok, and the presentation was unappealing. But the worst part was the aftermath - I've been experiencing stomach issues since then, and it's been a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food is subpar, and it's clearly not prepared with proper food safety and handling techniques. Save your stomach (and your weekend) and avoid this spot at all costs!

Very solid halal food! I tried the chicken and lamb over rice with salad. I got mild as the spice level and to me it was still pretty hot. The sauce helped with the spice though. I thought the meat was cooked okay but could have been served a little fresher like the lamb for instance. However this place was really good and I would order from here again!

I went to this place today after seeing its pictures on Google. The place was run by a Korean lady who makes Mediterranean cuisine, which was unusual and surprising. I ordered a half chicken and half lamb box with basmati rice and salad to go. You can choose the level of spiciness for your dish, and it was good. The meat flavors and the white (made with Greek yogurt) and hot (Jalapeno) sauce complemented the dish well.The Kimbab looked too good to pass up, so I also ordered one to go. The Bulgogi Kimbab was made on the spot and had white short-grain rice, Bulgogi seasoned beef, spam, egg, fishcake, crisp pickles, crunchy root vegetables, carrots, and pickled cucumber. It had a delightful balance of sweetness and saltiness from the fresh ingredients. The portion size was big for the price, and it tasted amazing. It was one of the finest Kimbabs I've had in years. Additionally, they offer a variety of teas, such as milk, boba, and fruit, as well as smoothies and slushes. I'm excited to go back and try other dishes on their menu soon.

The service was decent. I don't know, if the person with the other reviews had the same food as me. First the flavors together don't make sense and then the food isn't the best of qualities. I genuinely tried to like the food. I ordered to go but decided to eat there. Had a few bites and couldn't do it. Took the rest home and tried again and still a no go. I tried eating it three times. It's just a no for me. The employees are nice.

The Box'd Kimbap was fantastic and the bubble tea was also very good. There was only one person working up front on a Saturday afternoon so it was a little busy but he was very nice and friendly to everyone! We'll be back to try more!

Went here during slower hours, and the food was great. Service was awesome and employees were super nice. Lady behind the counter gave us complementary water bottles, and gave us a sample of their tofu kimbap (amazing by the way, i'd never had kimbap before). Chicken over rice was great, not too spicy. Thai tea was perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely gonna be back here!

Wow this is a hidden gem. The meat is freshly cooked everytime you order. Someone called this place like halal guys, that's an insult to these guys. Their food is 10x better. Friendly staff too. Need to go back!

This is one of my favorite spots for lunch! The food here is delicious, the portions are very generous, the price is extremely reasonable for all that you get, and the customer service is next level. All of the ingredients are really fresh with a focus on healthy options that have a ton of good flavor.My go-to item is the Chicken over Rice and Salad. The white and red sauces are amazing over the seasoned chicken and basmati rice. I love that it’s so filling and tasty, yet it’s so low in calories at the same time. That being said, I recently tried their new Kimbap and I’m now struggling to figure out what my favorite meal is from here, haha. It’s just all incredible!Lastly, I can’t say enough good things about the new owner and staff! They are extremely friendly and helpful and always strive to ensure their customers have the best possible experience at their store. The food is always made very quickly, it’s still warm both when I get there and by the time I get home (when taking out), and I’ve never once had an incorrect order.I will continue to go back often and highly recommend Box’d Kitchen in Merrifield to anyone who has never been!
LOVE this place! The new ownership is outstanding. They are kind, friendly, helpful, and SO hardworking.Also the food is incredible. I have yet to find something on the menu I don’t like. They even converted me to liking taro! One of the owners was outside tonight handing out free samples (it’s like 39 degrees!). He had a big smile and was the nicest!
