Hugely disappointed. This was our anniversary dinner and it was a letdown. The food is overly priced. It is good. The service was poor and the ambience was nothing like a four dollar restaurant should be. It had a large television going on in the bar. the seating was stained and the personnel or less than attentive. We didn't even get a verbal happy anniversary won't be going back.

Had the tasting menu paired with wine. All courses were paired well. The portion sizes were generous. Each entree was flavorful. My partner can't eat 3 different hard seeds, of which all were not only kindly accommodated but in one course they substituted a main ingredient, on the fly and without hesitation. The room was well lit, which is different but I liked it. The service was highly professional but warm as well. Quality to price ratio was in our favor. In short a great experience and look forward to the next time.

We dined with friends and we wanted to be able to chat and catch up on our families' latest happenings. Our Thursday night dinner proved to be perfect for that goal. We had Vic as our server. He helped us with wine choices and several Old Fashion cocktails to include Vic's Old Fashion. All were so delicious and perfectly made! I'm forgetting what we all had to eat. Everyone had something different and absolutely loved the flavors!! And dessert was super! We would happily return for another meal and truly would consider a weeknite meal to make the surrounding less loud!

I haven’t had the chance to use it yet (simply kept forgetting) and I’d like to confirm that it will still be honored. At the time, I was informed that the card does not have an expiration date.
I have the card with me now and am looking forward to visiting your restaurant again soon.

Update Fall 2025: we have visited here a few times since this first review many years ago. We had noticed the dishes were fairly rustic, and there was an over-reliance on fingerling potatoes in many dishes. We visited again for the first time in two years and the food has definitely become more refined over time. The service is not yet up to par with Michelin star but the food is approaching that level. This continues to be a wonderful secret tucked away in Vienna and we hope to continue to dine here in the future. --- Wonderful little gem in Vienna. Did the tasting menu and wine pairing. Not quite James Beard level but still pretty good. Ambiance where we sat was a little too bright for a Valentines compared to the main floor. Salmon tartare was not a complete dish, grilled octopus was perfectly done, Tilefish was good for being tilefish, and the Venison was a very successful plate. Wine pairings were modest and overall complimentary. The remainder of the menu looked interesting and I'm looking forward to coming back to explore more of what they have to offer.

The server was great and attentive. The restaurant was covered in smoke the entire time and made it hard to enjoy and made our eyes sting. The tasting menu was very bland. It tasted underseasoned and not that innovative for a tasting menu. In particular, the wagyu beef was dry and not tender. We asked both for medium rare but one came out medium done. We went for our wedding anniversary but it didn't feel special as compared to the previous times we've gone.
