I went here with my sisters and found the place empty. I was confused as to why, as I later found the food to be great! I had ordered the halal chicken ramen and added spice. It was warm, yummy and the chicken was seasoned amazingly. I ordered the edamame, and for 6.50 I expected a little more than what I got. I enjoyed the self serve water dispenser. I am giving a 4 - star review because my sister had ordered separately (she got the same thing) and her broth was very bland. As someone who does not have halal options near them, this was great!

We were waiting for Urban hot pot and it was over an hour wait. We were starved so decided to go here.
Chicken katsu with curry was decent, probably the only good thing on the menu. Sashimi was ok as well, tasted like any store bought sashimi.
Spicy chicken ramen was basically indomie or buldok with some hot water and coconut milk. Wagyu ramen was so bad we could not even swallow it. Tasted like a cold nasty dirty broth. So bad.
They subbed it for a spicy veggie ramen. Also very basic and just tasted like instant ramen.

Overall, I'd give this place 5.5/10. I wasn't expecting much tbh 😅 The food is just mid tasting. Ramen broth was decent, but the pork slices were chewy (overcooked) and could've used much more flavor. And we waited 45 min for our food...(yes, I timed it) 😭 I just wanted to try it to get it over with cause I knew it'd be average, so now I can check it off my list and never go back lol ✅️ Japomen? More like Japomid 😭

Always fresh and flavorful! Today we had the spicy seafood ramen and sushi combo set, and everything was delicious. A perfect comfort meal on a rainy day!
Japanese food’s one of my favorite cuisines and I don’t think any place has done it better than Japomen. Would highly recommend the Katsu, Takayuki, and any of the sushi.

Best ramen spot ever! My husband and I live in Pittsburgh but we make sure we visit this place every time we’re in Virginia. The owner and staff are all so kind! The owner is very knowledgeable and always recommends things from the menu based on what we like. We love chicken and wagyu beef ramen, as well as their chicken katsu and onigiri. Definitely recommend others to visit! I wish we had this place back in Pitt
