Honestly, this is some of the best Persian food I've had in an upscale restaurant. I've had a ton in LA and Dubai. Each dish is thoughtful and incredibly well seasoned. They are true to traditional preparations, with an elegant flare in presentation. The one big minus was the service. The gentleman was kind and knowledgeable, but they forgot an appetizer, and food came out rather slowly. It wasn't too busy either. This rating could easily been a 5 star, with better service.

Great new addition to the tysons scene - food was scrumptious, good portions a d beautiful presentation. Service was attentive and warm. Digs are spruced up from the cheoff Geoff days - would have loved a few more momentos of Persian culture! I had two cocktails, one hit and one miss but it was really the only miss of the whole experience! Will definitely be back.Originally wrote this review in 2023 and in fact I have been back many times. I am writing to update now (March 2024) to confirm that the food quality has stayed consistently good and to relay my most recent experience in planning a group dinner for a work function.I will start off by saying I was a nightmare patron - reached out a week from my event date, was unable to promptly return correspondence, indecisive, did my headcount wrong. You name it, I did it badly. Despite ALL of that, we had a fantastic experience and it's entirely thanks to the Joon service team. We showed up with two extra people. They added chairs to the tops of the table. They didn't get my pre-order in time, no problem we ordered on the spot. We had a vegan eater, they accommodated, even coming back to the table to run a food ingredient by her. The food came out quickly. It was of course delicious and everything was perfect. Our waiter, Sebastien, was grace under pressure personified, getting additional drinks, adding more apps, getting us silverware when we dropped stuff, helping the food runners find space on our crowded table for platters, etc.I had a mostly out of town crew with me and they loved everything. To top it all off, the final bill was very reasonable. Please don't drop $100 per plate at the Capital Grill on mediocre steak and lumpy mashed potatoes. This place is so outstanding and so deserving of every kind of business: group, couples, drinks, dinner, lunch. If they served breakfast, I'd be there! So grateful to have this option in an otherwise pretty bland, same old same old tysons food scene.Vegetarian options: Great veg options and menu has clear labels for veg, GF, etc.

It was such an awful experience. Service wise food wise, quality of what ever food was made off. We had made a reservation . Getting there for some times nobody was there finally attendant appeared (later we notice that attendant helps cleaning the table to.)We actually went there thinking it might be similar to the other relatively upscale Persian restaurant in D.C that have amazing food .I have had bad food here and there in some restaurants but this one was worth. I have ordered my favorite food Kabob koobideh . Which I love but I couldn't even eat one third of it. It was uncooked , extremely salty. The rice that comes with it was disgustingly greasy and nothing even close to the original recipe . I hardly could touch my food yet with little that I ate I felt sick when I got home. I have never eaten such an awful food before. I don’t recommend this restaurant to anybody. With waiting time to be seated and getting the food. We were told we better get the dessert because they are going to close at 10:00 o’clock.Waste of time and money.

I loved the food, the pistachio soup and the meatballs were a particular favorite. The service was a bit lacking, but it was quite a full night. The atmosphere was quite loud, but most likely due to the loud table next to us, as it seemed as they were celebrating some occasion, as were we.Dietary restrictions: Halal friendly menu items

The most wonderful place to relax with gal pals and eat delicious food. Loved the atmosphere and decor. Everything was beautifully presented and prepared. Our server Aldo was especially attentive and did an excellent job at making us feel comfortable. I have a gluten allergy and this place had a lot to choose from. Will come again for sure.

I wish I could give this restaurant a better rating. Unfortunately, I had the worst experience. The customer service was so poor. First, we ordered drinks, but they brought my friend’s drink, not mine. I had to ask several times and waited for 10 minutes to get my drink, which was simply champagne.Secondly, our food was entirely cold. Imagine having rice and kebab super cold. I was super hungry, thus I didn’t mention anything to our waiter. The food was also super bland. I asked for salt, but apparently, they wanted to act like a 5-star restaurant and there was no salt on the table. Not exaggerating, after asking our waiter for salt several times and not receiving it, I had to get up and find the manager for salt, which still took an additional 5 minutes on top of the previous 15 minutes of waiting. I was super shocked when, after all this waiting, the manager brought me kosher salt placed in a small plate. The salt was not ground and was not edible. I can go on and on about my experience. I will never go back nor recommend this place.
