I agree with the previous reveiwer that Kustard and Co. is hard a little to find because it is located in the back of Kiln, which is a pottery store. However, my sister and I were determined to find it because of the great reviews we read and we were definitely not disappointed. The manager was wonderful and you can tell he indeed takes great pride in his job as well as in creating different custard flavors. We will definitely be returning any time we're passing through Vienna.

Super-friendly service, great prices, generous servings, free toppings, and scrumptious custard! Fantastic! I don't miss Nielsen's nearly as much now that I know this place exists!

You gotta try Krazy Dirty Brownie!!!!

When it was Nielsen's it was our absolute fave in NoVA - real frozen custard, eggy, rich and so creamy. Apparently Kiln & Co where this is located bought the equipment, so presumably it's the same custard at Kustard & Co. It's very good, just feels more like an after-thought. But, definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed. (Way better than Rita's, jus sayin).

This place was so cute!! The man serving us custard was the absolute sweetest! My friends and i came in late on a Thursday night and even though it was 20 mins to close he let us order and in fact, went out of his way to let us pick his brain on his job and give us a few samples. The custard itself was delicious, I got a single of mango and vanilla and that was more than enough. I also had no idea that they were also a pottery studio so it would definitely be a cute group outIng or date night. Customer service alone brings this place to a 5 stars but the bonus was food was equally amazing! Highly recommend!

It's primarily a paint your own pottery kinda place. We came in just for the custard and the girl was surprised. I tried a shake... it was average. The presentation was nice. I think if I were to ever go again, I'd just get a couple of scoops. A little on the pricey side. Despite the picture the shake was not big.

I visited Kiln And Co. in Vienna with my granddaughter on Oct. 19. The employee working that day was horrible because she was looking after her own 3 kids (all under 5) that were there with her along with their dad. She did not assist in any way and her children were loud and distracting. They could not help it, they were bored kids! I could not enjoy my time with my granddaughter and we had planned this special day for months. The employee was scooping out tons of custard for her kids and giving inventory to the kids to paint. Maybe the owner told her that was ok. Anyway, I had a great experience there when a teenage girl was working but I won't go back if this lady is there.

I bought a Groupon for the Vienna Kiln and Co. What a delightful afternoon my niece and I spent painting and then enjoying an incredible (although a bit pricey) ice cream concoction. I would definitely consider returning soon!

This place is terrible! Every single thing in this store is overpriced, from the $25 pots to the $12 milkshakes! Absolutely absurd! To be paying this much, you would expect good service in the least. Nope! Girls working there had no idea about literally anything, kept saying that they needed to text someone to get answers about simple things like "how many coats of glaze do we use?" or even how to simply get the glazes out of the bottle. It seemed like it was their first day and had not been trained at all! Not to mention, they were terribly unfriendly and just kept looking at each other when we would ask them simple pottery questions like we were crazy! When we finished, they could not at all figure out how to use the register and had to call some older man in. Who was probably the manager? He looked so pissed off at them, who could blame those girls???? They clearly haven't been trained! No idea where he came from or why he hadn't been in the store whatsoever helping these girls. They need to get their staff and management together! Just horrible!

Went in with a groupon. Tried two times unsuccessfully to make a reservation because they had no inventory. Then when we finally went all they had were bowls to paint even though we had made a reservation. It seems like they were low on paint inventory, as well as pieces to paint. The girl working was very frazzled because she was trying to help ceramics customers, trying to work the custard/ice cream counter, answer the phone and try to get orders for people coming in to pick them up. My son ordered a small custard cup for $3.85 which was barely a full scoop-and it tasted like the ceramic paint we were using -so maybe the fans in the ice cream cooler suck in the paint fumes. Also we were told about 5-7 days for our pieces to be ready-but someone came in looking for pieces that were painted in mid-July (it's now Aug 30) and it still wasn't ready. And another customer came in for his and they weren't ready and he said it had been 10 days. I can't say the 2 owners were the friendliest people (Dmitry) and another woman there. And at the end of it all they actually made us stop and pay $4 in sales tax on the groupon-even after we expressed that we didn't have a nice time.

My experience here could not have been more negative. Upon entering the store we were told that they were closing soon, and even when we said we were just getting custard to go, the attitude remained unfriendly. The portion size was so small that it didn't even cover the bottom of the bowl, but this actually turned out to be okay because between the smell of the pottery/paint and the toppings station that was totally messy, I lost my appetite. The employee struggled to answer questions and seemed uncomfortable. She was also unable to open the register to give us change. Certainly she would benefit from more training. The custard itself was actually pretty tasty, but the experience getting it was so poor that it's hard to imagine going back.

Ok. This is a great concept in a great little town. Paint pottery eat homemade ice cream. What could go wrong? I enjoyed going with my kids and husband. But the person who was working was like just there. She didn't give us directions. We had to ask or assume. She was not engaged with the customers. I think it is a great concept but for the price I would expect a better interaction and Custer experience.

Yes I will drive 30 minutes for this! Loved the concept and the custard. Kinda of hard to find but worth the hunt.

Drove 30 minutes to try out this place, really good creations. You can also paint pottery but I discovered that after I walked it. Didn't flavors to try also, I had chocolate oreo. You also get to keep the glass which is a bonus for those who want to recreate this at home. Just FYI, the brownie that comes on the side is HARD so I threw it away. My sister had the red velvet and she said the same about the 1/2 of cupcake that comes with her selection. I will be back this summer.
