This is the most authentic chinese restaurant in Fairfax county. We had the best chinese new year dinner for our family of 10. Delicious food, good service, and very reasonable price. When i pre-ordered gluten free Peking duck they offered to pick up fresh Giant lobsters for our table. That was the best suggestion and most thoughtful and it was delicious with beautiful presentation. Love this restaurant! Highly recommend it, from a picky chinese grandma.

Avoid This Place – Worst Beef Noodle Experience Ever

I almost never leave negative reviews—in fact, this is the first restaurant in my many years living in the US that’s pushed me to do it. I’m writing this literally as I’m walking out the door, still shocked.
We ordered the beef noodle soup, expecting something decent since it’s a popular item here. The beef was straight-up inedible: tough as rubber (literally felt like chewing an eraser), impossible to bite through without effort, and completely lacking any tenderness or flavor. The broth was drowning in MSG—way over the top—so much that it left a chemical, headache-inducing aftertaste that made the whole bowl unpleasant and hard to finish. It genuinely felt cheap and poorly made.
Worse, the service was hostile. The young male manager (or owner?) had an openly malicious attitude—you could see it in his micro-expressions and tone. It made the whole visit uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

If you’re craving beef noodles in the area, go literally anywhere else—this place is a hard pass and a waste of money/time. The only redeeming thing was the short-haired female server, who was polite and friendly (we still tipped her despite everything).
1 star, and I wouldn’t even give that if I could. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

The food was very good. They made really good mongolian beef and the fried rice was delicious.

I've been eating here since they opened almost 20 years ago. Food quality and quantity has not changed. Best Chinese food in NOVA.

I’ve been there many times, but the food isn’t as good as it used to be. The portions are smaller and the prices are higher. We spent about $200 and left a 13% tip, but a man—maybe the owner—said right in front of us, “They only gave 13%,” as if that was unacceptable.

We didn’t receive any service beyond just getting our food, so how much are we expected to tip? 18%? Sorry, but I really don’t want to. I won’t be going back again. It’s fine if they don’t care about losing a few customers, but I don’t want to encourage this kind of forced tipping—especially at a Chinese restaurant.

Good for hand pulled or thick cut noodles. Your typical Cantonese spot

Having been to a few other Chinese restaurants in the area, this blows them out of the water! The food is authentic as you can get, especially how you can see the chef making the noodles fresh. The meal was crafted with love, and I definitely will be coming back here a lot!

I've been to a few local Chinese places, but this takes the cake for the best! The dishes are absolutely authentic and you get the feeling that they're prepared with love, especially since you can see the chef rolling the fresh noodles. In particular, the chef's specials were great, and the ones we had we'd get again. Awesome place to eat in, in short!

The food here is truly authentic, which may not be for everyone. But if you have a palate for genuine Chinese cuisine, this is the spot. The duck, salt & pepper shrimp, lobster w ginger & scallions, and the branzino are all my go-to dishes; always flavorful and satisfying.

While rolling through here you might imagine that Lotus Garden is just a typical Chinese restaurant but to their credit, while they have some of the usual cliches on the menu, they do some of these very very well. I recommend the sweet & sour chicken and you can specially order things like beef and snow peas which was a fresh delight when prepared as a special order. Service is good, quiet and non intrusive.
Portions are generous so there's some take home and a fortune cookie tops it all off.

Ingredients are fresh, portions are big, price is very reasonable in today's dining out climate. Flavors of each dish is good, not overly salty.
