I went to eat here with my boyfriend yesterday and the experience was terrible. We were recommended here but I guess the quality had went down. We both love sushi, eat at ayce sushi places all the time but we left disappointed and still hungry.
The appetizers we ordered had no flavor. The fish did not seem fresh, it was dry and not like anything we have eaten before. My bf had asked me if it looked clean. I could go on and on. The more we ordered, the more dissatisfied we were.
We were forcing ourselves to eat but I was thinking whatever it’s lunch time. My mistake was not reading that the dinner price was all weekend, so when the bill came we paid $84 with tax and tip.
I decided to talk to the receptionist about my experience and the quality of the food. The ONLY nice thing about this restaurant was the receptionist who listened and was very sweet. She called the manager and explained, they tried to give me a credit but I didn’t want to come back.
At that point I was I was fine with leaving. I was nice about it, calm and wanted to let them know instead of writing a review. Since I work as a manager, I would think they would appreciate me coming to them instead of writing a review. Nope, that all went downhill.
The manager called the server over on the phone, he didn’t even come alone. He came over with 2 other servers, asking “what’s wrong??” All 3 of them were all in my face. I told the server he did great so it had nothing to do with him. It wasn’t until a man came over there asking me why I kept saying that the fish isn’t fresh. They get it fresh daily. I told them idk if it was just today but all of our fish were dry and I told them the rice was dry as well. He was offended that I said it wasn’t good, asked me if the food wasn’t good why are all the customers in here? He proceeded to run over and grab a place of rice. You could clearly see water splattered on the rice to make it moist. He kept saying “try it” shoving it in my face. He then takes some and eats it and shoves it to the server to try it in front of me. I asked the receptionist why are they doing all of that? I wasn’t trying to make a scene.
It was so unnecessary and I felt EXTREMELY disrespected.The crazy part was that man was the OWNER. I ended up leaving, crying in anger. They took offense to everything I said and was rude. As a big foodie, this was by far the WORSE experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.

sushi oishii in vienna, va, is hands down one of the best ayce sushi spots around! my wife and i stopped in for dinner on a friday night and chose to sit at the bar. it was a fantastic decision. the atmosphere was lively yet cozy, perfect for a date night or a casual outing.
our server, colin, was absolutely amazing. he was attentive, friendly, and made sure we always had everything we needed. his recommendations were spot-on, and his upbeat energy added so much to the experience.
the sushi itself was incredible—so fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. every roll we tried was a winner, and the sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. the variety on the ayce menu was impressive, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of care into each dish.
huge thanks to the entire team at sushi oishii for making our night special. if you’re looking for fresh, high-quality sushi and exceptional service, this is the place to be! we’ll definitely be back.
