I’m not one to make reviews…When I say this was incredibly disappointing experience food wise… it would be an understatement. We were served cold meatballs where the mozzarella cheese hadn’t even begun to unthaw… they did this not once, but twice, after we complained that the food was under cooked. the only saving grace was the incredible servers and staff that had absolutely nothing to do with the cooking, but if you’re the chef of this restaurant, you might want to invest in a quality microwave next time.

Genuinely a terrible experience. The waitress was very inattentive, despite being the only table in the area. The pizza was a greasy slob that was tremendously floppy. The $16 "Wagu Burger" was a frozen patty and somehow a frozen bun. Genuinely awful and the waitress never bothered to ask why I was finished after 1 bite without a to go box.Radically over priced with a tremendous lack of attention to the food and experience.

Pizza crust was very good along with the pizza. Got a salad along with the pizza the ranch dressing was very runny seemed water down. Sit down stairs the staff was friendly but the service could have been better.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had south of NYC. Can't wait to go back and try more of their specials. Whenever I want to test the pizza quality at a new restaurant (for me), I always order the exact same pizza -- at every place. Which makes for an apples & apples comparison. In my case, that's pepperoni, sausage, onions and mushrooms. Black Bear knocked it right outa the ballpark--a total home run. I cannot think of any other place within 100 miles of DC that I'd rather order that pizza from. I look forward to more scientific experiments there.

Unique three story experience with restaurant, cellar pub, and pizza brick oven on the lowest level. Excellent service, delectable food, clean eating area, restrooms and environment, too! The brick oven element to prepare the pizzas, garlic knots, and dishes provides for an authentic cuisine! Excellent in-house made marinara sauce, LOVED IT!

Food was below average. Pizzas was super greasy and sauce wasn't good. Wings were burned. The Bacon burger, The bacon was rubbery and burger was drenched in bbq sauce.

Was excited to try this place after walking by it and seeing the hype. Was very disappointed in the wait time. Half of our tables food came out 10 minutes before the other half of our table and there was no communication about it. Trying to track down our server was impossible it felt like. Mediocre food with mediocre service for a high price.

Very disappointed all around. The management has either changed or doesn't care anymore. No beers on tap; 50% of bottles beer menu wasn't available; service was awful and pizza took 45 minutes even. Though there were only 2 people on porch and no one else inside at the bar with me.

Not very happy with my experience yesterday. The food we ordered was bland, we ordered crab dip and fried pickles for our appetizer and I ordered a crab melt for lunch which consisted of 1 piece of bread and the same crab dip we ordered as an appetizer on top with a piece of semi melted cheese on top of that. (It did not look or taste like a $16 meal) I could barely eat it. My friend had a steak and cheese which looked more appetizing. We ended up paying $83, which I thought was ridiculous for the poor taste and appearance of the food we ordered.

We had planned to eat across the street and truly wish we had waited for that kitchen to open… With only 20-25 customers total in this restaurant, it was more than hour before we got our food. I counted at least 4 servers working, so this was not a “we are swamped” situation. Our server would say, “I’ll give you a few minutes” then show up 5-15 minutes later. When we placed the order (30 minutes after being seated), he told the bearded guy at the pizza oven what we had ordered. The reply was… amazing… “Ok, whatever, I’ll get to it when I’m done.” He walked outside, lit a cigarette and played with his phone for 15 minutes.During this time, our server showed up with the bowl of soup we had planned to eat with the pizza. I asked if it was possible to have both items together, and his response was, “sorry, too difficult to do since we work with two kitchens.” He then walked out and joined his bearded buddy for a smoke break. WTH?It gets better… Bearded guy walks back in after a larger gentleman started behind the counter, and tells him “I’m going home now”. So, our bearded hero needed a 15-minute break before leaving for the day — and that break was more important than our food. Wow!!!The soup (crab bisque) was pretty good, as was the pizza. However, if we have to do this again, we will definitely not choose this restaurant — not unless we have just had a meal and have a few hours to sit around watching employees go on smoke breaks while customers wait.i

Everything about this restaurant is great! The host accommodated my daughter's volleyball team, and the staff was gracious with us. My Wagu burger was tasty!
