Staff is very friendly, service is very quick, and everything is always tasty! If you catch them during a restaurant week and they're doing brisket, you will not regret trying it in whatever form they're serving it! They have really good fries, and I'm not typically a fry person. I love the diner-like community feel on the inside, it's very warm and cozy.
Find out when it's Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese day and then run - don't walk - to get some. Rainy Day + That = Good Stuff. Thanks ya'll.

We love to eat at Ellie's! It is nice to know that every time we eat there the food will be great. Zan and Ann are great and alway have friendly staff helping them. They accommodate our requests without a complaint, even when we want to split an order between the two of us.
Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu and are always encouraging and accommodating to those with little ones.

The food never disappoints! One of the best burgers you'll ever have. They really know their food! And they have ice cream, which is always a plus on the hot summer days. If you love French fries, you'll love it here. Probably the best fries you'll get in all of town.

Swung by here to stop for breakfast on the way to Luray. First, what a gorgeous old town area! Second, Ellie's is a great little restaurant, wonderful breakfast and lunch fare. I wish we lived closer and could go more often, but definitely on our list of places to stop at when heading West towards Shenandoah.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread options.
Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly.

When we go out today it's usually disappointing with overpriced and poor quality food. Today was such a welcome change when we went to Ellie's Place. The burger with home made pimento cheese was the best I've had in a VERY long time (and I'm including my own which I take great pride in). The owner was incredibly nice and mentioned that the meat was sourced locally and the pimento cheese was based on a family recipe. We also had the pimento grilled cheese with bacon. Unreal how good it was. Both came with generous portions of fresh cut fries. We topped it all off with Hershey's ice cream. Go here....you will be happy you did!

My family has visited Ellie’s every weekend over the past 2 years and ordered pretty much everything off the menu at this point. After visiting 100+ times the food quality and has always been reliable and excellent.
Ellie’s is a local restaurant and the atmosphere is welcoming to any that stop by. The owners will be in most days and will greet you. I highly recommend visiting this gem in Warrenton!

I came for Brunch with my toddler. Definitely an interesting set up. I ordered a grilled cheese for my kid and of course he was happy. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I couldn’t eat it. I took two bites and the black pepper was so overwhelming my mouth was on fire! I love spicy food but this was out of control black pepper. I asked for a menu to try something else. As I hear behind me my server talking to another and she just says that’s how we make it. I was shocked. I’m a chef and i can’t believe another chef or cook would like that gravy was good. There was a family behind me where the two little girls got the same thing and was complaining to their father and he said to just scrap it off! And then he lied to the server when she asked loudly how is the biscuits and gravy and he said it was great…. I almost very complain but even when I ordered something else it wasn’t good nor even warm enough to melt the bagged cheese. They didn’t show me the bill so I have no idea if I paid for the item I took two bites out of… At this point I’m just disappointed and sad.

Restaurantji Recommends
Very poor experience on Friday May 10 that began with terrible customer service from the older blonde female employee. There are so many great options in Warrenton that this place cannot be recommended.

I was honestly shocked to see the woman working interrupt what she was doing to go outside and reprimand a family with a special needs child from sheltering from the rain on their picnic table, even though it was 55 degrees and the restaurant was nearly empty.
Bad burger and rude service
