Went inside because I love cute local bakeries. They had some individual pie and cake slices near the register fairly priced 2.95 for cake slice and about 3.95 pie slice. I got the caramel cake which was like a butter pound cake with pecans at the bottom really good and moist. But my favorite was the bourbon pecan pie surprisingly because I don't really like pecan pie but this pie was done right! It was so good I took one bite and went back in the store and bought another. This is a must try!

Made a special trip to the Red Truck Bakery last Sunday and didn't have any trouble parking or getting food at 8:45am. Must have missed the early crowd. Bought an egg biscuit sandwich, lemon blueberry muffin (still warm), coffee and splurged on the Double Chocolate Moonshine cake. Egg breakfast biscuit sandwich was good with a unique taste of relish or chow chow adding to the overall taste but the biscuit was harder than I expected, not flakey. The lemon blueberry muffin was just beautiful. Hint of lemon, large blueberries and moist. Unfortunately the Double Chocolate Moonshine cake was the biggest disappointment. So incredibly dry someone suggested I make it into cake pops! I even put whipped cream on it to hopefully soften it up but no use. The taste was bland with just a whiff of moonshine. Sadly it wasn't edible. I usually take pictures but this time I guess I was just so disappointed with the cake I didn't. I will give them another try with a different cake....fingers crossed it's moist!!

I took my daughter and her friend here for lunch on a Saturday around 12:45pm. I was hoping they had lunch items. We selected an egg salad sandwich, a tuna sandwich and a croissant plus drinks for each of us. They also offered two other kinds of sandwiches. The egg and tuna sandwiches were substantial in portion: thick -but not too thick- bread, plenty of filling to the edges. The only complaint is that both salads were noticeably sweet. It was really off putting. Maybe they use salad dressing instead of mayonnaise? We sat in the small room to the right of the register. It was raining that day so it was very damp inside. Staff was polite but not particularly warm and inviting. I do still recommend them as a bakery but perhaps not as a lunch spot. For us, anyway.

Such a lovely bakery! Their service is wonderful and the food is delicious. Their chicken pot pies are perfect :)

Red Truck changed ownership and it's a real shame. Service is bad - now they are openly hostile to dog owners. Used to be able to walk in with my very well behaved pup and order a coffee. Now there's an offensive sign on the door and the staff are rude about their anti-dog "store policy". The food's not even that good. To my fellow dog parents... Walk 2 minutes down the road to Deja Brew or Great Harvest Bread. Both dog friendly and even friendlier staff. And have great food too :)

Of course, I recommend this place they have gluten-free desserts. I love the red truck bakery's ambiance.

We bought a brownie and a biscuit and a cinnamon bun. All 3 not good. The brownie was Camry and dry. The biscuit fry and crumbly and the cinnamon bun was hard as a rock. Maybe it was old and they were just trying to sell anyways. It's a shame

Honestly, this place seems overrated. We tried the granola and it was too sweet and unremarkable. I can think of other Southern bakeries that could use the NYT hype and deserve it much more, not only for granola, but for better technique and originality.

Beautiful cafe with beautiful decor. My issue is that none of the pastry options are particularly inviting, and everything is very pricey. The coffee is just ok.

Stopped by after the skyline drive! The service is impeccable and the bakery feels so homey! I ordered the brownie and the honey suckle cake. The brownie was more Daley and didn't have the deep rich gooey chocolate taste I look for but the honey suckle cake was amazing! It was light and sweet but not too sweet with a floral hint!
