best pizza in the area, i’d prefer this over any other place every time. cheese fries are nostalgic and everyone who works there is so fun to be around. Felt like i was hanging out with friends. Never stingy on the toppings either :)

I don’t normally write reviews, but this place definitely deserves one. I stopped in during a 5-hour drive because I was really craving pizza and honestly, I feel like I could drive 10 hours now just to have it again.
I got a pepperoni pizza with green peppers, and even though they were clearly busy, it only took about 10–15 minutes. I was surprised by how fast it came out.
The pizza was exactly what I needed, but the whole vibe of the place made it even better. The staff were super friendly, and it just had this great atmosphere that I wish I had back home.
Definitely planning to stop by again the next time I’m heading to D.C.!

Definitely has gone down in quality and service. Used to be our favorite place to get pizza but today was the last time we will try it. The pizza just wasn’t good, the cheese fries weren’t great, and the service was confusing to say the least. The man up front only ordered one order of fries when we asked for two, and then said never mind about paying for a new order, so we tipped him, then he said he made the fries, and we actually did have to pay for them so we paid and waited, but turns out he never even made them, so a 20-25 wait we were told it would be ended up being close to an hour. Just for the food to be unsatisfactory.

Sigh. 😔 Last night’s pizza was disappointing. We have ordered from Spitony’s many times over the past few years but this is the second time (this year) that we haven’t been happy with our pizza. I can tell you what I know for sure is an issue…the cheese. It looked and tasted like bagged, generic brand, pre-shredded cheese from a discount grocery store. It didn’t even melt together evenly, it just sort of hardened on top. The sauce is phenomenal, the crust is good (maybe a little on the thin side), but the cheese is bad. I don’t know if they switched distributors or went for a cheaper option but there’s a big difference in flavor.

Super busy on a Saturday but worth the wait for a really good pizza. Just preserved takeout this time but want to try other things on their menu.
The dining area could use some fresher look to create a welcoming pizza joint atmosphere. At the time I went the tables needed cleaning from the dinner wave. I love that they carry wine here too!

They are celebrating 50 years in business. Gotta be good! Really is the best pizza in the area. A bit of a drive but it is well worth it. Not the best place to sit and dine and the traffic for take-out is constant. But the pizza is yummy!
