While the ambience and concept of the restaurant is adorable for a small town restaurant. It wouldn’t exactly be my top choice to return to on the Main Street even if all the other restaurants were shut. These three stars are honestly quite generous for this restaurant due to the fact it’s located in a place with such a small population. I’ve been to smaller towns as a traveler who could whip up a meal faster than they did today. The wait staff was nice but it didn’t make up for the fact it took over thirty minutes to plate and serve three mediocre meals. The locals were very obnoxious with their loud conversations and standing by the tables instead of simply sitting with their friends. I ordered the Ma’s pimento cheese sandwich and my party members ordered a breakfast burrito and chicken and cheese quesadilla. My sandwich was quite bland, I’ve had many different pimento cheeses across southern states and this was the first time I’ve had a cheese where you couldn’t even taste it. The chicken and bacon on the sandwich simply overpowered it to the point it bordered disappointing. As a Virginia native I’ve had pimento cheese from Chicken Salad Chicks that had more flavor than what was on my sandwich. The breakfast burrito my party ordered was so small it looked like it could come out of a fast food restaurants back kitchen. The chicken and cheese quesadilla was something any twelve year old could make at home. Honestly none of what we ordered should’ve been the $12.50 it was listed as. But hey at least they have a pretty wall mural.

Business should update their hours. Checked on google, and even the building says open daily 8am-3pm. It’s 10am and drove from Tappahannock just for this place to be closed.

Our party of three enjoyed our breakfast items; cream chipped beef, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and avocado toast with egg white- delicious! The cafe au lait and jacks (fried dough) rivaled New Orleans! The service was friendly and efficient. The space is bright, clean and welcoming. Will definitely come back when in the area.
Will never come back second time of this happening. Came in and sat down because its seat your self waitress came and took our order. I finished my coffee before my husband even got his coffee. We came and sat for a hour a family next to us had ate and left they cleared table another family sat down ordered and got their food before we did and we was already there for a hour and still never got our order. Sat for another 20 min and still never got anything we finally decided to walk out!! I paid for the coffee I had my waitress had the nerve to say she didn’t take that order . I looked at her in disbelief no accountability at all!!! We left will never be returning felt like we was treated like trash!! So if you like your time wasted this is the place to come!!!!
