Not the same as it was A few years ago. Ate there every week when I worked in Waynesboro. Hadn't been in a couple of years but chose to meet some friends there from Earlysville when they ask me to suggest a good Hamburger place. Way understaffed but thank Goodness the lunch crowd is remember never showed up. Food was fair, onion rings were a big hit with my Earlysville friends. Burger was cooked with apparently no salt and the buns were burned to the point of being black on the bottom bun. There is no reason to serve Sweet Tea at 12:30 that tasted days old.

Staff is amazing. Owner is very approachable. Food is fresh and a lot of it. Don't forget to open shop in Virginia Beach. See you soon.

This used to be one of the best places to eat until the owner of New York Flying Pizza took it over. When visited, I found poor management, poor service and the food is nothing like it used to be. Workers are rude. Bathrooms are not clean. Saw cockroach while dining there. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN !!

Great food for great prices. Everyone loved their meal. It is a great place for a quick bite to eat. Waitress was amazing, as well.

Just had the absolute worst experience in 15 years of going to Tailgate Grill ive ever had. Forgot our order, watched 3 others that came after us get their food. And then was only approached once for one refill for a drink. Then told our food was coming out shortly. Walked up to the bar it wasnt even started yet.. being that it wasnt started I proceeded to leave which they insisted we still pay for a medium fry even though we had ordered a small.. Waited over 35 minutes for a BLT and a small chili cheese fry absolutely ridiculous and then asked us for a tip upon exiting. This use to be one of my favorite restaurants and always have recommended it to new people that came to the city. Ever since covid this place has gotten worse and worse.. less bacon on the blt smaller portions and higher prices, everything about this place has changed and ive lost every bit of respect I once had.

We took a "daycation" from Newport News, I said "I want a good ol' mounain burger!" Google suggested Tailgate Grill. Clean, nice atmosphere, TV's with games on, beer on the menu, order of fries are HUGE, onion rings awesome & the burgers were outstanding!! Friendly staff!Highly recommend! We'll be back!

Amazing food, service, and I love the open space they have. It is perfect for after a hike or camping trip.

Was looking for somewhere with fried breaded mushrooms. These were pretty good.
First time here but pretty disappointed. It was a Monday, only a few customers. Took 10 minutes or so just to place an order. I ordered a BBQ and coleslaw sandwich. BBQ was dry, needed to be stirred before putting on a bun. No one checked to see if I needed anything until after I finished eating, but only asked if I needed a refill

We randomly searched for a place to grab a bite and found Tailgate Grill. Not knowing much about it, or even previously hearing anything, it can be a bit worrisome based on food choices and allergies. Thankfully, we gave them a try. We each went simple and got a cheeseburger and fries. Pleasantly surprised is not even close to how happy we were to find this place. It was clean, the entire staff were great, the food was fresh, the atmosphere has a lot of windows so it was nice and bright. Bonus, my husband really liked their sweet tea, which if you're from the south, you know the importance of that.

Obviously popular, Tailgate Grill is a better then average flat top diner. Portions are generous and flavor is there.

Great food at a great price!

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. My family and I live 45 minutes away from Tailgate and have always bragged to others on their food,we have ate there ALOT over the past serval years,but we are DONE.
Today we drove 45 minutes and had a gift card that someone spent there time and hard earn money to give use, only to be told that they did not honor it anymore (because they had a new system), that is no excuse!!
So for those of you that have a gift card like the one i am going to post....I guess you are just SOL like we were!!! They have lost our business!!

Burger was great and a always, more fries in a serving than one person could ever eat.
