Stopped in for lunch today and it was so good! Service was great and our burgers were delicious. The fries are wonderful as were the homemade chips. Will definitely go there again when I'm back in the area.

What a great little spot! Staying nearby and wanted a comfortable, casual dinner. Clearly a strong local following, but very welcoming (both staff and patrons). Both our server (Carter I think) and the bartender (Chad maybe?) friendly, genuine and gave great suggestions. Food was spot on! Make sure you have both the house made chips and the fires. Burgers were excellent, cooked properly, and delivered with fantastic/quality toppings.Could ask for more in a burger joint!

The River was a great place to grab lunch and drinks after the long morning Shenandoah hikes. The beer and drink selection was great with quite a few local options. The food was delicious and wonderfully prepared. Would most definitely recommend their pimento burger and chicky wrap - both were solid! The service was fast and our server was friendly who gave us all the information on their specials and local favorites. The ambience is relaxed with a great small town feel. We would definitely be coming back whenever we’re in the area!

What a neat little place to have some really good food. First time eating there but it definitely won't be my last. It has officially been added to our lineup of places to eat when we go to wintergreen. You can tell it's a locals favorite because soon after we got there it got packed. We were happy we made it before the lunch rush. Servers were friendly but they definitely cater to the locals. They knew them by name and what they had going on. The food was really good. I think I was on a nacho kick this time around. Everywhere I went it seems like that's what I was appetizing and these were pretty amazing. What I liked most is that everything was stacked on their freshly made chips. Definitely a different take on nachos but it worked so well that all others were compared to them. Can't wait to go back!

They no longer list the beyond or veggie burger on the menu but have both. The fries were underwhelming and apparently an upcharge and so must have been the beyond patty. What was listed as a $15 burger somehow became almost $25. Good but not $25 burger good.

The food here was fantastic! Popped in after finishing tubing at Wintergreen expecting typical "bar food". My whole family was more than impressed with our selection. We started with the pretzel and fried tomatoes. We all agreed best pretzel we've ever had and green tomatoes were top notch. We each got a burger. The burgers were perfectly cooked with high quality ingredients. Strong recommend the food!

I have been twice. Food is tasty. Service has been excellent. Ambiance is also very neat. I haven't been there when it was super busy, but I would imagine it could get cramped. Definitely try it out!!

My favorite stop when I need a cold drink, hot meal, or simply a friendly “hello”.The Bloody Mary is to die for! Creativity at its finest with the option to swap any beef patty for a vegan patty- every burger then is potentially vegan/vegetarian. Genius.
