Best and freshest sushi in the Hampton Roads peninsula/Yorktown/Newport News area/Gloucester area!! Recently moved up to the area and in search for my go-to sushi restaurant. Kero is the place!! Exceptional service and amazing sushi rolls. My favs are Dancing Tuna Roll, Twin Tower Roll, and X-Mas Roll. If you are looking for a delicious sushi restaurant with a robust menu, Kero Sushi & Japanese Restaurant is the place!! Highly recommended!!

As far as I've found, this is the best Japanese food I've had on the peninsula. The food was delicious and the menu had a lot of options. The prices felt a little high, but it seems that's usually the case with Japanese food. The service was good, but it was extremely busy so our server was sparse by necessity. It is very much an intimate, dim-lighting kind of date spot. We went, unknowingly, with our two kids and found ourselves whispering and feeling like we had to shush our toddler everytime he spoke. Overall, great spot, but expect to spend a little and maybe get a sitter!

The food and sushi were excellent. Our waitress was very nice but we waited a while to be seated and then afterwards. Just not very organized. Almost seems like there are more guys doing sushi then waitresses. I will definitely be back! We had the chicken teriyaki (super tender), ebi and crab stick sushi. Haikkado roll and Sake. The steak hibachi my daughter had was a little dry and over cooked but she still like the flavor.

The food is delicious! It is one of the best places for sushi in the area. The service is friendly and prompt. We have enjoyed every item we've tried off of the menu, including sushi, hibachi, bento box, and katsu.Parking: There are hundreds of parking spots available.

They have a great selection of rolls at reasonable prices and the staff are polite and efficient.I will say that this is the only place I've been where I don't care for the miso soup, but their mushroom soup is great!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. My daughter loves the fish tank up front and they always have a piece of candy for her when we leave. They even have the little chopstick guides for her.

I absolutely love this place. I won't get sushi from anywhere else. I've been going to kero since 2014. The service is always great. The ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant. I have a booth that's my favorite place to sit when I eat there. Can't recommend the food enough!
