We stayed there almost 20 years ago and it one of most memorable experiences in a B & B. The innkeepers were very nice and took time to talk at length with us. We hope to go back.

While on a cycling trip, we stay at this at the Ransom Bay Inn. Loraine went above and beyond to accommodate us as cyclists. We hope to be back.

We recently stayed at the Ransom Bay Inn on a cycling trip to Montreal. What a pleasant experience. A great historical building, quiet serene surroundings, and the most gracious hosts. And to top it off a great breakfast to fill us up and get us on our way. Could not have been happier.

Beautiful, rustic B&B centrally located in the Alburgh area. Lorraine and Walter are awesome hosts who will take good care of their guests. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful!, French toast and bacon perfectly cooked. Cannot wait until they get the Restaurant open again, will definitely come back

Loraine and Richard were amazing hosts! They were so welcoming, and so kind! The room was perfect, the bed was so comfortable and the room was immaculate and spacious. I didn't know this, but they offer rides to local restaurants if you come by bike, which is amazing! They are both trained chefs, so the breakfast was so delicious - eggs and bacon with home made raspberry jam on the first day, and french toast made with a croissant on the second. I can't wait for them to reopen their restaurant for dinners! I would definitely recommend the Ransom Bay Inn for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway on beautiful lake Champlain!

A couple of friends and I stopped in on a bikepacking trip, and Lorraine couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful! The house and rooms were absolutely beautiful and she promptly offered us a beer before we even got our stuff settled in, which was supremely appreciated after a long day.The breakfast and coffee were delicious, made to order and served in a comfortable and cute dining room.I’ve already recommended this to others and will continue to.

Loraine and Richard are wonderful! Beautiful 19th century inn. The rooms are beautifully decorated. I so appreciated the fact that the rooms were not decorated in an *old* 19th century style.Extremely clean! Cleanliness is a #1 priority for us.Rooms have ceiling fans and opened windows as an alternative to having to use the air conditioning. There was never a hint of mustiness, period! Can I say that this, too, is a #1 priority for us, as I have mold allergies and am very sensitive to being in a musty environment.Lorraine was very accommodating and bent over backward to make certain our stay was everything we could have wanted. They served a full breakfast, which was delicious and custom prepared. You will not be disappointed!

The room does not have a key. I have never seen that. We were alone in the Inn apart from the owners. We weren't worried but we found it odd. The bathroom door was a problem. It wasn't easy to shut it unless you closed it sharply but then you were locked inside the bathroom. It was alright for us because a family member was always in the room to open the door from the outside but it was annoying. There also seemed to be a water issue since there was a hole in the ceiling surrounded by plastic sheets. Underneath was a pan to obviously collect water in case of a problem. I chose to not make a big deal out of this, and it isn't, but I thought the owner could have explained what was going on. It would have appeased our questions. We stayed only one night. By the next day it seemed useless to mention it during breakfast. The owners are very sweet and clearly love their Inn. Bring your own cold water because there is only the bathroom faucet. In the morning we received three small lukewarm bottles with our breakfast. Not very refreshing or appetizing. The breakfast was a disappointment since we do not eat eggs. The main dish was eggs. We had yogurt and a croissant, and croissant French bread. I should have asked what the breakfast was when I booked. A fresh fruit salad would have been nice. So it was a fairly pricey experience. I won't be going back.Nearby activities: Not much to do. It's a place for cyclists passing through. Nice place to drive through. Safe and calm.Safety: No key available for your own roomWalkability: Need a car to get to everythingFood & drinks: No ice, no cold water. Tim Horton's coffee.Noteworthy details: Very sociable owners who enjoy chatting with their guests.

Just spent New Year's Eve at the Ransom Bay Inn. The owners Richard and Lorraine were wonderful hosts, and the dining was excellent. We stayed with 3 other couples, so the B & B was booked to capacity. Overall it was a lovely experience.
