Stopped in quick for lunch on the way to Burlington. Ordered the smoked meat grilled cheese and it was amazing. The brisket was very tender and delicious, bread toasted to perfection. The fries were delicious also. Was lucky enough to sit at the bar and talk to the owner for a while too. Will absolutely be back!!

Been here many times and consistently great food. I have had nothing but a positive experience dine in or carry out every time I have gone. Make sure to take dessert home for later!
We went to The Meltdown to view the eclipse from the Boston area. The owner, Diane, was friendly and attentive. The apple, brie, and fig grilled cheese was amazing. We brought home a piece of cheesecake that was equally delicious. I will definitely be back for a day trip.

My family was passing by the area and wanted to stop somewhere for a late dinner. We noticed the Meltdown was still open and had great reviews. It did not disappoint! Everyone ordered different grilled cheese sandwiches and they were all super unique and tasty. We also got the poutine as an appetizer and two slices of cheesecake for dessert. All super delicious and I would highly recommend! Overall it was an awesome experience and we're keeping it on the map for when we return.

Stopped here solely because someone's review had a picture of their poutine. I'm so glad we did! It was delicious poutine! And the grilled cheese were amazing and so unique. My only complaint is that I don't live closer so I can come back!

The only people who don’t like this place are going to be lactose intolerant or should be on a watch list. The staff is friendly. The food is thoughtful, well executed and most importantly delicious. Drive out of your way. It’s worth it!

Lovely staff, could not have been nicer or more accommodating regarding an order mix-up. The food was delicious and plentiful - the ham sandwich special leftover was consumed as a midnight snack, and the rest of the Signature Alfredo over pasta fed two for dinner the following night. The place was humming because it was the night before the total eclipse. The food still came out hot, fries were crunchy, and the bread toasty, not flabby.
Service was great! Food was outstanding, simple but delicious. Lots of beers on tap. Try it !

Food - A+, Tour Guide - A+. I’m assuming she was the owner but after chowing down on the best corned beef and grilled cheese sandwich that even I couldn’t finish, and dipping my fries in the suggested pesto mayo, she talked with us about where to go to watch the syrup (sugar) making. Didn’t make fun of our Ga. accents and was open on a Sunday when we were passing through. I wish she wanted warmer weather and could bring this place to the south.

The Meltdown was a bit of a letdown. We ended up spending $150 for grilled cheese sandwiches and apps, which we all found a bit crazy. The French onion soup was terrific, I could tell it was made with fresh, local cheeses. The grilled cheese sandwiches weren't worth what we paid. Do not get the chicken tender appetizers - $12 for 4 tiny chicken tenders. Our server was lovely and attentive. We just didn't expect grilled cheese to hurt our wallets so much.

We discovered this restaurant after a championship basketball game. It was extremely busy and despite that, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the food was SO good! We will make a trip back to Barre just to eat at The Melt! It’s also a very aesthetically pleasing environment!
