Let me ahare my experience …..the other day I went to Applebees only to find out they do not offer any gluten free foods that I consider truely gluten free so I left and told them I guess I’ll go to THE WAYSIDE., Which I did and had a excellent gluten free meal and they even offered a gluten free pecan pie which was delicious. Thank you Wayside glad that you are so accommodating.
If what you expect is traditional diner food and atmosphere, these folks do a great job. It’s a local favorite and is usually busy. Low prices, daily specials, “white bread” Parker House rolls. Good soups. Today my spouse is having meatloaf with gravy, baked potato, cranberry sauce, rolls and pea soup all for the special price of $10.99. I especially like their ice cream - house made and served in small portions. I’m GF and the staff and kitchen are knowledgable and accommodating. They have a bar with Vermont brands, serve Cabot butter and offer real Vt maple syrup.

Love a good, old-fashioned diner, and this place hits the mark. If there's a line, just be patient, and you'll get seated shortly. We went for breakfast and waited about 15 minutes. The food is diner fare without the huge menu like ones in Jersey. It's inexpensive and awesome.

Couldn’t get a server to come to us after sitting for 15 minutes. We just left and went somewhere else.

Good food and great service. I enjoyed my time with my family over lunch and waitress was very kind and helpful. I like fact you can pay right at your table on the phone without standing in line at the register.

This place has an amazing atmosphere for an incredible price! I mean where else can you find a fresh burger for $5?? A slice of pie for 4.50??
The haddock chef special was incredibly fresh and substantial for seafood, full of flavor!
My wife was looking for something more familiar after so much seafood throughout the week, and the burger? Just solid. Fantastic char. Thick 1/4 patties on a homemade bun.
All of the servers seem really nice and friendly, Rachel B. Was our server and made us feel right at home. Makes us want to have a place like this back home in Chicago.
They were out of donuts when we arrived (little before 3pm), which means they MUST. be fantastic. Definitely want to try to get them on our next visit.
Cost effective, friendly, and near town. Worth the drive out, I promise.

We dined here recently, and the whole family can't stop talking about it. We went again just two days later.
The wait for a table can take a bit of time, but it's no wonder why. The food here is delicious. Everything is fresh and homemade.
They run daily specials, and in the late evening they have half-price desserts. We ordered the blueberry pie and the crust was incredible.
We will be going here regularly.
The food is so good. I feel like the portions are bigger when you dine in versus take out. Either way, the food is wonderful. And the best maple cotton candy I've ever had the pleasure of eating every visit. lol.
They ran out of what I wanted (pot roast) at 3pm. Long line even mid afternoon.
