We hosted our wedding at MTR and it was the absolute best venue we could have chosen! It was stunningly beautiful--we loved all the different spaces for rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, reception, and Sunday brunch. From our first visit, the communication was fantastic. Max was our coordinator and was so easy going and responsive. From picking custom signature drinks to holding the rehearsal at our guest house, they accommodated every request. Day-of, literally nothing went wrong. They ran everything so smoothly, even things I hadn't thought of (like ensuring guests don't walk to the ceremony while we were processing). The shuttles were so helpful as well. MTR truly made everything so easy and we had an absolutely perfect day!
Great location in the mountains. Food and service was top notch. Only complaint is for the room charge you should get your room done each day.

The Ceremony Knoll and Reception Barn at Mountain Top Resort are absolutely beautiful — the perfect setting for a Vermont wedding. The views and atmosphere made the day feel magical. The coordinators at Mountain Top Resort were professional, organized, and easy to work with. Max was always patient and responsive, answering all of my (many!) questions throughout the planning process. Our day-of coordinator, Sydney, was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond — even arranging last-minute shuttle services around the property to keep everything running smoothly. The entire staff was warm and accommodating, helping to make the day stress-free and enjoyable. The onsite florist, Meadow’s Edge Floral Design, was also wonderful to work with. Gayle and her team created stunning arrangements for both the ceremony and reception that perfectly fit our vision.

My husband and I got married here in November, 2024 and we absolutely loved everything about it. Our coordinator Elizabeth was amazing. She was so sweet and very detail oriented and very easy to work with. She made sure every detail of the day was perfect and we had nothing to worry about. The staff were wonderful and friendly and all went above and beyond to make our experience one we’ll never forget. The venue is stunning with even better views. We highly recommend using Mountaintop for your destination wedding you won’t regret it!

Not impressed with the restaurant. We made reservations specifically for an anniversary lunch. First, the appetizers very delicious. However the main dishes were not only cold but the rolls tasted stale and even though they were toasted they were cold? My cousin asked for mayo that came after about 10 minutes which made her cold burger even more cold. Then as we were enjoying our $300 lunch they started breaking down the entire restaurant and it was so disruptive and freezing....I don't understand how they could do that knowing we are sitting there trying to enjoy our meal? This was a 10 year anniversary ....not enjoyable. By the way the mayo took 10 minutes but the check took 30 seconds.

Rooms: My main issue was the paper thin walls. The room itself was great, but you could hear everything, everywhere. It lead to every night being unable to sleep or being woken up in some manner. Good luck if get the room near the tavern
Nearby activities: Unless you just want a view don't go in between seasons. The timeframe I went, I had snow but couldn't rent snowshoes. Nor the horse drawn carriage was operatio. I did walk in the snow which was beautiful, and the hot tub was great! Visiting the surrounding towns was fun though, plenty to visit.
Safety: Staff was amazing with keeping areas shoveled and clear of ice.
Food and drinks: Food and drinks are great. The staff is amazing, I absolutely loved the staff.
Noteworthy details: Despite the flaws, the area is so beautiful, the staff was amazing. I had complaints and they were so accommodating. It's why I'll go back during a season with activities. Can't write it off on one visit. It's just such a lovely place to visit. It was just terrible trying to get a good night's rest. I think next time I'll try a cabin.

I hadn't been to the Mountain Top Tavern in over 15 years. I guess in that time, the old comfortable, intimate tavern has been replaced by a new, modern restaurant. It was busy and very loud on the bar side. Unfortunately, this was the only side available for dining due to a wedding on the other side. Unfortunately, on top of being surrounded by loud patrons, the service was slow, and the kitchen even slower. This made tolerating the unpleasant atmosphere even more difficult. I expected better decorum from well-dressed people in an upscale restaurant. We had hopes that at least the food would redeem our experience, but at best, it was just a solid average. For $58, the ribeye should have melted in my mouth, but it was more like a $25 cut of meat. Per my wife, her filet was just "OK." I had high hopes of bringing my new bride to the great tavern I knew years ago but left very disappointed.

Enjoyed the killington gondola ride nearby for leaf peeping and ended at this resort for a truly delicious meal on their patio. The food and service were excellent and the views spectacular. We had such a good time we returned for a second experience which was just as good. Don’t miss this!
