I'm not completely sure how to explain my experience. I happened upon this local watering hole completly unplanned.Since most people don't read the full review, I should start my saying that I had a great time and met an amazing artist named Bill who is a regular at the establishment. The singer tonight was enjoyable to listen to and has a great sense of humor.(I called out for "Free bird" and he flipped me off with a smile on his face and said. "Here you go this one is on the house".)Now for the negatives.I ordered and Old Fashioned and the bar tender was unaware of how to make it.She asked for assistance and wasn't given proper instruction.I had a second one and gave her some tips on how it's made. It was much better. The food wasn't great. But it wasn't bad either.I opted to go for the appetizer sampler. I chose the eggs, gherkins, and mozz sticks. The egg was wonderful. The mozz sticks aren't sticks at all, but actually balls. The gherkins aren't actually gherkins but instead regular fried dill chips and very salty.Overall I gave it a 4 star review because as a local "dive bar" it hits the mark.In closing I would like to say that I WILL DEFINITELY visit this establishment again. The overall experience was good despite some minor bits.I didn't make any comments to the owners or workers about my experience, other than the explanation of the "old fashioned".

Extremely slow service. Waited almost an hour for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food wasn't even hot when it came out.

Best bar in town, great place to hang out, relax, draw, and have fun. Fantastic Staff!

I have not tried the food, so I can't speak to that but let's talk atmosphere and service. Amazing!!! Super friendly and fun staff, great service and seriously so much fun!! Snowball fights, coloring and games. Went to go see a friend's band and it was so worth the trip. Perfect little spot!

Friendly and clean. The little games on each table added a little fun, and they have a lot of games on the side too. Decent food and drinks!

Great Scottish pub in Enosburg, Vt. Run by a guy named Dave who is cut right out of a Scottish legend. Put a kilt on him and watch him toss the caber!!! Seriously, a nice guy, good to chat with and knows his bar. Sampled a great Scottish Ale. They have music on the weekend and serve pub food. Didn't get his wife's name but she was so pleasant and fun as well. They make a great team and I wish them well. It surely is a struggle to operate a pub in the current environment of lack of available workers and the subsiding, but still around, Covid. Will go back.

We live over two hours away and we love this place more than anywhere in VT. The food is so good. Fresh ingredients. Made with love. Served with love. We had sliders, fries, pickles, wraps. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert but we will leave room for it next time. Who doesn't love service by a Scottish guy in a kilt? Such a great atmosphere. Lots of board and card games to keep the kids or adults entertained. Perfect experience all the way around.

We go for trivia night every other Thursday. Great beer selection and creative Scottish pub fare food that should please anyone. I love the buffalo chicken sliders and homemade battered fries. You can tell that the food is fresh. Try the Scottish Eggs.

The battered fries are amazing. Fantastic food made in-house and great with food allergies. Definitely will make McClurg’s a regular stop!

So this bar is fabulous. It absolutely is NOT a dive - it is lovely, clean and modestly decorated. The service is great and even when they are busy, they make a point of letting us know we are never forgotten. The owners are wonderful, the food and drinks are great. Angry, impatient customers leave unkind and unfair reviews so just keep that in mind. Make sure to give McClurgs a chance!! Let’s keep this small-town bar in business!!

McClurgs is a lovely family-owned pub in our village. And, they treat their guests like family, too. The food is exceptional and they have a great array of beverages. It is a sweet, cozy and fun place to gather with your friends and enjoy an evening out. During COVID, it has been especially comforting- extra efforts have been made to keep everyone safe. Unlike other places who have had staffing shortages and closed, McClurgs has stayed open and worked doubly hard to take care of all their guests. I cannot say enough about the care and attention that the owner pays to all of the details. See you there!!!

Slow service. They didn’t have 3 of the things we ordered so we kept having to take more time to look at the menu, half our party waited an extra 20 minutes for their drinks to get to the table, and they only got their drinks because they walked up to the bar and re-ordered them. It’s very much a dive bar without the comforting interior decor. 1/10
