I had a GrubHub credit so I ordered a pizza for pick up. Order was confirmed. Drove 15 minutes there to find a sign on the door saying they were closed due to staffing shortage. They are still listed as open on Google. Had to get a refund. The other location is great but this one (which is closer to me) never cooked their pizzas long enough and pickup orders were always late.
The service was some of the best we’ve had, very impressed with how welcoming and genuine the staff was when interacting with us. The pizza ingredients were fresh and the crust was very delicious, and the perfect thickness IMO. Highly recommend! ??
Proabbly should lock the door if you are closed for the night. I was told they were closed for the night. At least put up a closed sign. I realize they might had to wait for people to pick up take out. That might be why that door was unlocked.
A group of 8 of us were pretty much the only ones there 4:30 on Sunday 3/5/23. It looked like 1 waitress on staff and we were treated and served well even as other groups came in. Our orders were specific to special food needs and were done correctly. The pizza was delicious, we would come again.
I ordered a pizza thru door dash, I got a notification it was ready 5 min later, which seemed impossible. When I got home it was VERY clear that the pizza HAD TO BE sitting around for at LEAST an hour. It was almost inedible. VERY disappointed. Selling OLD food that is supposed to be fresh is very irresponsible. Essex Jct location btw.
We love the Williston Rd location. We tried the Essex location when they 1st opened and our food was way undercooked, We paid, left and didn’t go back until tonight. The bottom of the pizza was hot but the toppings were cold~ weird. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese that came with barely any cheese, too much basil or something and hard as a rock, anyway we didn’t eat it. Surprisingly, one of the 3 young girls who were working there walked by when we were getting ready to leave and asked how things were. I said the the bread was terrible. She started walking away and said “ Oh well, hopefully it’s better next time”.We won’t ever go back to this location.
6 of us went for dinner last night 01/20/23. There was one waitress on and a host from what we could tell. We were not in any rush and did not mind slow service. We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and asked for more time with the menu. 10-15 minutes later she came and took our order. We decided to add the barnyard wings as an appetizer and ordered our meals. The wings came out first. They were delicious! Crispy and saucy! Then our meals came….. I ordered the Bird sandwich which had avacado’s on it. The avacado was rotten (see picture below) and had dirty slimy tomato’s.My friend asked for a side of Mayo. I am not sure if they used a dirty knife but it had chunks of bread and other things we couldn’t identify in it.We finally received the Brussel sprouts (which they didn’t charge for) halfway through the meal. They were RAW! After we waited all that time!It seemed like whomever was cooking had no pride in what they were putting out. The food isn’t cheap so to pay for something that was not great leaves a bad taste in my mouth.I am a very patient understanding person and know that there are issues with staffing. But the food and preparation of the food was horrible!I won’t be going to this location again.
Extremely disappointed. Ordered 3 pizzas tonight. Order said it would be ready at 4 (an hour after ordered). Arrived at 4:05 and they appeared to just start cooking at that time. Was told to wait 7-10 minutes. Food didn’t come out for another 30 minutes. There didn’t appear to be a single employee over the age of 17 in the entire restaurant.Pizza was wildly over cooked, borderline inedible. Disappointing because they used to be extremely good. Owners should take note because I know 7 people who now will never order from here again.
Firstly, there was only one employee in the whole restaurant for lunch. I felt bad for him, waiting, cooking, cleaning. He was great, the only reason this place got any stars at all.The food was bad. The pizza was black on the bottom, the crust tastes like a stale cracker, the cheese was low grade and tasted weird. Ordered extra cheese, was disappointed by the result. The chicken fingers and fries were salt bombs. The salad was pretty good. So there's that. I want that employee to know, if he ever reads this, that he should go work someplace else. He deserves better.
The manager (Curt) was the only one on duty and the process to order was extremely efficient and kind. The food came out very fast and was very delicious. Order the specialty pizza "the broadside" you won't be disappointed. Also tried the fries and the previous reviews are dead wrong. The wings were also spectacular. I strongly recommend this as I will be making it a staple in my work week dining spot for lunch. Be patient if there's only 1 person working.

IF YOU’RE INTO LONG DELAYS, MANAGEMENT ATTITUDE AND INEFFICIENCY-THIS IS YOUR PLACEArrived and was immediately sat which is best part of this review. Restaurant was noted to be dirty with lots of empty tables, dirty dishes all over and a smell of stale food. Waitress was nice and took order (apps cold salad and pizza). 30 min later waitress said food should be coming out but another 10 min and still no food (not even apps). 60 minutes after ordering still no food so inquired when food would be coming out and was told hot apps just went in oven and cold salad was almost made but she couldn’t say when it would be out. Ironically table which came in 20 min after us received their entire meal (pizza chicken etc) at this time as well. Manager came over and said they were short handed and he was making orders in the order they came in - pretty much throwing his waitress under the bus. Looked at another table that came in 45 min after us and they had their entire meal (pizza calzone and salad). Explained to manager that this was the second time we had tried a Barnyard and the second time we have had to wait over an hour for food. His response was absolutely shocking in that he said, “Well maybe this restaurant isn’t for you.”Having worked in the restaurant business for many years he could have said a lot of other things which I would have understood and accepted but clearly he wasn’t interested in trying to retain a customer.MR. MANAGER - You are correct.. this restaurant isn’t for me nor will it ever be again. I look for restaurants that are clean, efficient, and have well trained staff and quality food. Clearly none of that is at your Barnyard so I won’t inconvenience you by spending my money at your establishment. Instead I will just be happy to share my experience and your undue attitude with everyone I know…To the owners, you may want to look at a new manager and some more training for your staff as in reading other reviews I am not alone. If I could leave (0) stars I would.
My first time today at Barnyard Pizza in Essex Junction, Vermont... Without a doubt it was a super pizza.. From the crust, the toppings and most importantly Kurt, the one who took care of my order.. He was very courteous and kind.. I will definitely be a loyal customer.. Thank you so much.. Rita
We went there when they first opened, when we questioned why customers who came in after us were served and we weren't we were told the printer ran out of ink or paper. We walked out.We tried it today, ordered a Hawaiian pizza, it was served in 10 minutes, who ever heard of cooking a pizza in 10 minutes. The pizza was not only cold but wet like it had been frozen and barely warmed up. In addition we had to request silverware. They reheated it but it was an unpleasant experience. We won't be back
My family of 4 got take out, we ordered the 12" Greek pizza, cheese garlic bread, onion rings and chicken fingers. My children split the chicken and onion rings and LOVED it! My husband and I had the Greek pizza, it was also AMAZING! The cheese garlic bread we had to bring home for later but smells awesome. Total was just over 60.00 and we fed a family of 4 with left overs. A true hidden gem, this place is Fantastic.
We ordered a large pizza that was half maple goat and half sweet pig, and it was delicious. The waitress was also very sweet. I would eat here again!
