Red Mill Restaurant

Chicken Parmesan sauce was bland and linguine was piled on plate. Apple skillet desert was great. Had us setting by 2 tables of 10 and 2 tables of 4 that were part of family reunion and everyone yelling across tables.

The food was delicious and the portions very generous. Our waitstaff was also attentive and knowledgeable about the specials and able to answer any questions about items on the menu.

I was attending a wedding in the area and randomly made a reservation somewhere that I assumed was pretty basic. It was anything but basic. My friend had a risotto special with shrimp and I had salmon and they were both excellent. The service was fantastic and the burgers, fries and other pub food I saw going by looked amazing too.

We ate outdoors on a beautiful fall night and the food, we ate a lobster roll and a steak, were delicious! Fresh salad and the apple crisp was to die for!

After orders were taken, informed 10-15 mins later that 1 dish no longer available, not a huge issue and picked another dish. Told again, that a dish order not available and we picked something else. Normally not an issue but made the wait time and dinner very long...not ideal w/toddler....they did give us a $10 discount for the hassle of 2 unavailable dishes and long wait time for meals to arrive (~40m).

Basin Harbour is a special place on Lake Champlain. The Red Mill is an informal dining experience at Basin Harbor, but you do not need to be a guest at Basin Harbor to eat there.  The food and service are excellent.

Excellent meals and drinks! Flavors were amazing. Very nicely presented. Service was excellent. We will return for sure.

Last year, my husband I celebrated our anniversary here. The staff was amazing and they went the extra mile and made our night special. We will return this year.

Although the staff were all kind and friendly, the time spent waiting to get a server to come over was excessive. We waited more than 15 minutes. My husband and I both ordered soup to begin with and it took a very long time to get that, as well. The fish and chips consisted of two pieces that were not very large, and the “chips” were 3 potato slices. The price was $25 and that was way out of line. The cheddar ale soup was tasty and the Caesar salad was good, also. I'm my opinion, there were not many choices.

We've been boating to the Red Mill Restaurant for many seasons and have always enjoyed the experience. While the staff remains friendly and the food quality generally good, we've noticed the menu has continued to shrink over time. This season, it's become especially limited and, unfortunately, quite disappointing—with no specials offered during our visit. We sincerely hope to see more variety and exciting options return to the menu in the near future.

What a great place to dine as the summer season begins. The rustic nature of the restaurant makes it relaxing and casual. The service was great and friendly. Very attentive to our needs. The adult beverages were done well. The food was delicious and portions were the correct amounts. We celebrated a birthday and they were generous by offering the birthday boy a free dessert!

This restaurant is located on the Basin Harbor Resort in Vegennes VT. where the 2025 Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Nationals were held. Our waiter was Jon from Iowa, and he was very friendly and knew the menu. I had a 12oz New York Strip Steak with mashed potatoes and sauted mushrooms. It was very delicious. I was with an 11 person group from our dog show, and the service was fast and timely. The restaurant was in a remodeled saw mill and had numerous antiques.

Had a turkey club and a couple of beers. Sat at the bar. Great casual atmosphere. Bartender was attentive, and kind. Turkey Club hit the spot.
