Stopped here yesterday on a day trip through Vermont, and it was incredible. I can only compare it to Mosaic, an equally fantastic restaurant in my homestate of Maine, as far as flavors and quality are concerned, because both places put a lot of thought into what they're serving.
My husband tried the chorizo taco and I had the nopales with pinto beans. Corn tortillas were definitely made in house, plus the guacamole accompanying our chips was very fresh and delicious.
If our travels take us through Hardwick again on a sunny Friday afternoon, we'll be happy to make this a spot we return to.
Our young service worker was very kind and friendly as well.

We had the Caja Madera food truck cater our wedding welcome party a few weeks ago and they were awesome! The tacos were delicious and authentic. Having the truck there really created a fun festival or fair style atmosphere for our party and the guests seemed to like it. The guys on the truck serving the tacos were all very nice and efficient. Booking them was a simple process as well, the contact person Bryan reached out quickly to my first inquiry. I had sent out emails to other catering companies during my search and many either didn't respond, responded weeks later, or were unwilling to travel (even within state). Not Caja Madera! They were always responsive to my emails and traveled from VT to our venue in NH for a reasonable fee. I really appreciated their customer service all around and highly recommend!

Tacos- off the hook, really good mix of authentic flavors with the local ingredients of one of the best agricultural regions of the US. Beer- good local northern VT selection in cans, nice and cold. Owner- super cool, really enjoyed talking with him...And there are a throwing axes. These aren't the cheap ones that bounce back at you or don't even look like an axe, and it's not some dumb thing at a carnival where the game is rigged...owner is willing to give tips on technique. One of the best nights of my life.

We are so happy we chose Caja Madera to cater our welcome dinner! It was so easy to work with Bryan in the months leading up to our wedding, and the team did such a great job making sure our 85 guests were full and happy. And, of course, the tacos were phenomenal! If you’re wondering whether to hire Caja Taqueria’s mobile taco truck, Caja Madera, do. it.! Bryan was refreshing to work with, friendly, enthusiastic, accommodating, and available to communication. We hired Caja Madera to cater our daughter’s hs grad party yesterday = great for this young crowd! Bryan & wife Gabby served up a variety of street tacos, a nacho bar & huge ears of street corn! SO good you it was tough decide which to try first! Similar menu to their restaurant on Rt.15 in Hardwick, so treat yourself then go next door to throw some axes!
