Amazing staff and the restaurant is really good, serving breakfast on the weekends and dinner daily.

I've never had a clue what checking in would result in. I don't recommend this property .

I do not recommend The Upper Pass Lodge and booking.com. They don’t even deserve 1 star. I booked a room for my support animal and I through booking.com And was not told that the check-in time was until 8 PM. I called the Upper Pass Lodge the next day, and Vince told me They did not even have a pet friendly room available, and booking.com did not provide my contact information so that he couldn’t even contact me to let me know that the room wasn’t even available. Which is not my fault, however it is illegal to refuse a support animal. Since it was so late in the night, my support animal and I had to sleep in my car. Booking.com is refusing to refund me, as well as Vince. I had a phone call with him that turned into quite a bit of tension and hostility on his end, and he ended up hanging up on me. Poor customer service. They got my money, and I will get it back. Not a good way to do business, Vince.

Reply to Vince: I already told you multiple times that I’ve already spoke with booking.com and I’ve already told you multiple times that they did not provide check in times nor did they ever mention a “digital key” to check in late. However when we first spoke after the reservation was over, you told me you didn’t even have a pet friendly room so you wouldn’t have been able to have me and my support animal stay anyways. Your reply shows no effort to apologize for hanging up on me without warning while we were mid-conversation which is poor customer service, and you keep dismissing the facts here. You’re worried about losing your “fee” for a room I never got to even stay in, so there’s no difference in whether I booked it or not, no one stayed there. No cleaning needed, no utilities being used, you got to collect my money and that is very poor business practice. If you don’t like that booking.com didn’t provide you or I with accurate information, then you should think twice about doing business when them. This is not my fault at all. I would have never found you if I didn’t find you on booking.com, so think again about the business you’re doing. I gave you a chance to simply cancel the reservation so I could get a refund, and instead you got nervous and hung up on me because I am seeking arbitration and will get my money back. This is disgusting service. What a shame. I wish you the best of luck in life if you choose to be this way.

Rooms were very spacious and they also had a bunk bed along with 2 double beds. Only different thing was that they do not do check in after 8 PM which I learned the hard way. They have a small gift shop and also a little restaurant.
They don't have AC in the rooms. They have split Ac which was programmed to heat.

Staff is phenomenal! Large rooms, pet friendly, great price. Only drawbacks are limited breakfast options nearby (none on-site), no perks such as microwaves or mini fridges in rooms, and limited control of heating/cooling in rooms (air conditioning was turned off by late September, which made the rooms warm during the day), but for the price it's not a bad place to stay.

What a great football Sunday we had..Dennis behind the bar was great.. cool football Sunday menu.. must get the smash burger 5.00. Couple flatbreads and wings. All vermont liquor. Vinny was amazing and as always very helpful. Might be off the main path a couple blocks but we'll worth the stop

This is a ski lodge environment which has withstood many winters and hard weather. The building reflects wear and tear and the rooms really need updating and a thorough cleaning. Staff were pretty accommodating and friendly.

Vince, Megan and Lauretta make this place truly special. They work their butts off, Vince, the owner, has not had a day off in over a year. He goes from 7am to 11pm every single day. Are there things that are getting ahead of him? Yes, but that's also why it's affordable and for such an incredible location. And he is constantly updating and making improvements as he is able.

We hosted 50 people here last week, I run a 7 day summer camp at Magic Mountain every year. Upper Pass Lodge is where we stay, they do all of our food in their restaurant, Red Slate. It is the perfect place to feel safe, at home, and be in the heart of adventure. The hospitality is next level. Yes, the facility is not perfect. There are water stains on parts of the ceilings, the pipes creek, its a dog friendly hotel. There are kids running amok barefoot. And that, is why it is perfect. Go if you are looking for an unpretentious place, that you'll build personal relationships with the families that work there, and have a relaxed vibe. Do not go if you are looking for spotless and corporate. But if you want a place your kids can be kids, and you can get recommendations on the best local hikes, places to swim, farm visits and the like. Then this is your home away from home.

I came here in August with low expectations. when I came here I saw a pool my dad told me that they is breakfast . We went to the room and there was thousands of bugs flying. We rusht to the pool and it was cheap and pretty old with lots of dead bugs. But the nature is beautiful.

I was thrilled with this little mom and pop lodge- especially for the price point.
Nothing too fancy, but very comfy, very welcoming.
PLUS they welcome dogs!

Awesome value, super friendly staff. Burger night on Wednesdays is a great value and delicious! Came through on the NEBDR and glad we stopped here. If we’re ever back around the area definitely going to be staying here.

I highly recommend staying here. It is definitely worth the price. The property is beautiful. Megan and Vince are amazing and will do all they can to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Enjoy all their Vermont-made ingredients, beers, and merch. Their restaurant is great and they are even better.

A perfect spot to start your ascend towards the mountain and skiing area so it gets 5 for location. Servers at the lodge are some ladies, one of them, very kind. However, rooms are outdated as the carpets were a bit dirty and there was odor (moderate) in room.
