Pretty terrible experience all around. First, there was no parking anywhere near the restaurant and I had to park across the street, which was very inconvenient. Asking the restaurant where I should park was met with a very unhelpful "anywhere". Second, the decor is awful and looks like a bad college cafeteria. The chairs are very uncomfortable also. It was very bright and loud. Third, the menu is very limited with few options and no specials. How could you not serve soup in Vermont near skiing and on a cold snowy evening? And they somehow ran out of mac and cheese at 7:30PM on a Sunday evening. Finally, the food was mostly really bad. While the lone pasta dish on the menu was a little bit better, the burgers (cooked medium and including what they falsely claim is a Wagyu burger) were completely dry and inedible. Service was bad also - very inattentive and slow. I would never go back to Calcuttas.

Food was not good. Burgers were poorly cooked, salads had very little chicken. food was way overpriced. We should have stayed home and ordered a Pizza. Spent almost $275 for 5 people, no alcohol.

Service was good for our party of six. The food had a lot of room for improvement. Two of three steaks were overcooked, all three sides of mashed potatoes were served cold. Super inconsistent as one of the steaks was very good & cooked correctly and nice cut of NY strip; the other NY strip thin and overcooked. The ribeye was not good and was ordered rare and served medium-medium well. My daughter didn't like the chicken strips/tenders and did not eat much of her food. Overall a big disappointment and we would not go back. Value for the money was very low.

Excellent wait service, but the food was nothing to write home about. Had several different menu items, but was not blown away by any of them.

Lovely setting - either main dining room or the bar. Menu is a bit limited and portion size is small. Entrees do not come with anything-I.e. no bread, salad or veggie/starch included. Food is fine and bar offerings/cocktails were generous.

Food was just so so.....menu average. Husband ordered teak tips said they were not great however he's not a guy that complains will just eat and not create an issue. My pasta dish was good however pasta isn't a difficult meal. Daughter did not like her chicken wings so only ate 2. Staff were welcoming and friendly, timing of food was good, just overall quality not great. Won't be back. They had TV's for the FB game which was why we selected.

Super crowded holiday weekend. Large groups and young families was the vibe. Not a date night spot. Waited almost 20-25 min to be greeted by our waitress who passed by us to say she would be right with us. Maybe it was because of the holiday.

The worst meal I have ever been served. They claim there were issues with supply and staffing due to the weather. I don't know, but after waiting for over an hour, they served us the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a burnt burger with no cheese or toppings on a roll that literally crumbled in my hands. They comped our entire bill, but we left hungry and unhappy.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The cauliflower bites were a total showstopper crispy, flavorful, and easily the best I've had anywhere. The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection, exactly as ordered and packed with flavor. Our cocktail was delicious and perfectly balanced, setting the tone for a great meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Betsy was an amazing server attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly taken care of without hovering. On top of that, the manager stopped by to check in, which always says a lot about a place that genuinely cares about the guest experience. This is the kind of restaurant that gets everything right—food, drinks, and hospitality. We'll absolutely be back.

We came with a party of 12, and while the service was fantastic and the staff was very accommodating, the overall dining experience fell short — starting with the table setup. Instead of seating us by the windows, they placed our group at a long table positioned directly around a pole/beam. This pole divided the table into a group of 4 on one end and 8 on the other, making it impossible for the four of us to see or talk to the rest of our party. The space clearly could have been arranged for smaller tables of four, but instead they wedged a table of 12 around a structural pole. Unfortunately, this setup made the dinner far less enjoyable from the start. As for the food, it was just okay. Other than the burger and the chimichurri special, most of us ended up with plenty of leftovers. I ordered the BBQ Steak Tips — the meat was tender but extremely salty. My husband had the Chicken Parmigiana, which was dry, and the sauce didn't elevate it. The Caesar salad was soggy, the Orecchiette pasta was fine but nothing memorable, and the Farmhouse Wagyu Burger was one of the better dishes at the table. For appetizers, we ordered the Cauliflower Bites, Tuna Wonton Nachos, and the Potstickers. The cauliflower was definitely the standout. The nachos had far more wonton chips than tuna, and the potstickers tasted like they came from the freezer — not homemade. For cocktails, we tried The Chairlift Martini, which was supposed to be a creamy coffee liqueur–style espresso martini. Instead, it arrived watery, thin, and with little flavor. To their credit, they fixed it by adding Baileys and vanilla, and it became delicious. My husband enjoyed his Fix Run Old Fashioned. Overall, the service was excellent, but between the awkward table placement and the hit-or-miss food and drinks, we unfortunately did not enjoy our dinner.

The service was ok, at one point we were the only table in the dining room and had to wait for staff to order dessert and bring check. Food was decent, better quality and value at other restaurants in town. Beautiful setting

Open table posted that calcuttas would be open on the day that we reserved it. The reservation had been made a week or two in advance. We got to the restaurant and it was closed for the month or more. Open table had sent us a confirmation text to make sure we would be coming to dinner at Calcuttas which, of course, made our group think we would definitely be having dinner there. We had a group of 11 and we had to rush around the town and figure out where to go to dinner after that because it was a Sunday and most restaurants aren't open or close early. Overall we are disappointed in the communication between open table and this restaurant we were so looking forward to eating at.

The reason why I had to give it all a poor review was because the restaurant was closed when we arrived for our scheduled reservation. I had made a reservation and on open table and had received several confirmations. I was never notified that the restaurant was not open that evening. It was very disappointing, because I had a group of six and it was very difficult at that time to find another restaurant in the area that we could get into. It would be nice to know that if the restaurant is closed for some reason, we get a notification from open table.

Great location, too bad they have made the choice to take some of the favorites off their menu, very very poor selection, wanted their soups, now removed from the menu. :(

Ryan was a great waiter. Very attentive. Food was very good. It was delivered in a timely manner. We really enjoyed the overall laid-back feel of Calcutta's. We had a beautiful view of the pond and the mountain.
