Food was good, they treated us well, and the drinks were strong enough to keep us happily distracted while the kitchen was fighting for its life.
We first visited on New Year’s Day for dinner, which is apparently the restaurant equivalent of running a marathon while juggling knives. The kitchen was getting absolutely crushed, so they stopped accepting walk-ins. We pivoted to the bar which was the best decision. Full restaurant service, front-row entertainment, and bartenders who were on their A-game despite the chaos.
Shoutout to Nico, Michael, and a third gentleman whose name we sadly missed—all hilarious, attentive, and impressively unfazed. Watching them keep things moving while cracking jokes felt like dinner and a show.
We returned the next night and learned the staff was short-handed because several servers were injured in an ice storm (because of course that happened). Some patrons were not exactly embracing the “mountain town patience” vibe and made their frustrations very loudly known. Meanwhile, the staff handled every rude demand and complaint with professionalism and kindness that honestly deserved a standing ovation. Yes, food took a while—but the service more than made up for it.
As for the food and drinks:
The local beer selection was small but reasonable.
The Alpine Blossom cocktail was pleasant and neutral—easy sipping.
The Boulevardier was done right, which we always appreciate.
The salad was exactly what a salad should be: fine, polite, and unmemorable.
The hamburger and truffle fries? Delicious and absolutely worth it.
The next night, the broccoli cheddar soup was perfect—warm, comforting, no notes.
The prime rib special over mashed potatoes and asparagus was cooked perfectly.
By night two, the vibes were much calmer—fewer people, no angry customers, and the same excellent service. All in all, Coleman Brook Tavern delivered good food, great drinks, and exceptional staff under tough circumstances. We’ll gladly return

Came here for New Year’s Day dinner. 4 adults, 5 children. Our reservation was at 6:45, we were seated at 7. It took about 15 minutes for a server to arrive, another 20 for the drinks to arrive. After an hour and a half with no sign of food, we spoke with the front desk. The manager, who we previously witnessed berating a young man bussing tables, came over to tell us they were short staffed for a litany of reasons. This should have been relayed to all patrons at the door. As we spoke to her about chicken fingers and mac and cheese for our children not taking much time, she walked away. We then saw a table who arrived 45 minutes after us receive their food. Ours arrived at the two hour mark. Whenever we have experienced such sub par service, something is typically taken off the bill as a courtesy. This only happened after we spoke to our server who was unfortunately caught in the middle. The manager never spoke to us again, but we saw many other people speaking with her as they also waited very long for their food. Definitely think twice about eating here.
i dont know what the other reviews were talking about. we got some of the fastest service ive ever had at a sit down restaurant. the food was great too. highly recommend

Very overpriced for the food quality. Who serves garlic bread with raw garlic pieces on it? Service was decent, but I would expect better for how slow it was.

Was seated and waited for 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table. Can’t comment on the food bc we never got to eat.
We came here for our anniversary and enjoyed an amazing dinner and bottle of wine for their Monday special Italian night. Callie was the nicest server and provided 5 star service. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience 🥰🥰

My wife just left a positive review, but I also feel the need to do the same just to offset at least the last awful review somebody left because I honestly feel like she had a rock in her ski boot or something.
We ate here for dinner out of convenience since we were staying at the hotel. I was not expecting it to be very good. The French onion soup is made in house and is extremely flavorful, packed with onions and cheese. We ordered a warm beet salad that had multiple huge chunks of beets that were perfectly cooked, house pickled onions and a delicious house made dressing, also not skimping on goat cheese.
We also order the poutine(and again on our second visit the next night). The poutine was made with house cut potato slices that were perfectly fried and absolutely covered in melty string cheese and gravy. Now, the gravy was not house made but it WAS great, so salty and beefy. It’s the perfect rib-sticking hearty dish to have after day of skiing. Entrees for both nights included salmon, beef shorts ribs and the signature Coleman burger.
I don’t know if they have a 1st string chef for the weekends, but the guy cooking mid-week sure as hell knows how to cook. Salmon was perfect both nights. Risotto was perfect both nights. Short rib and burger cooked perfect.
Service and staff were very nice and helpful.
Oh! And the friggen cocktails were great too, which really surprised me.

Yes, it was a little pricey. It was so good though! Every single thing was delicious! Salad with beets and fresh lettuce…poutine! I don’t know if it was “traditional” poutine but it was so good! French onion soup delish. Salmon with huge asparagus spears and a yummy risotto. Then the beef short ribs - I’m telling you I hate fat and this was so good, no fat. I’m writing this bc the reviews were so iffy but this was a delicious meal and the server was so sweet. I had the margarita…stunning. So good, go here.
Worst food ever for any price, and it was way overpriced to boot. Do NOT get the French Onion Soup (had no idea that could be screwed up but its flavorless), the cheese plate (random selection of crappy, not at all fancy cheeses), the shrimp cocktail (bad texture on the shrimp, overly horseradishy cocktail sauce), or the hot chocolate (definitely from the machine down the hallway).

Absolutely terrible overpriced food ..would not step food in this place ever again. The only thing good about our meal was our server ..Chester was Great! The food ..not at all. My son and husband had the overpriced filet ..it was about maybe a 3 ounce cut on a bed of truffle fries ..what a strange presentation and it was $42.00..overall it was just not good
Great service, excellent food and among many other things, their tomato soup is made in house and is really phenomenal.
Came on Dec 24. Had an amazing server named Dayton, absolutely DELICIOUS food, and a very cozy environment. I got the mushroom risotto and my partner got the Guinness short rib, we got some drinks and salted caramel ice cream. WOW!
Food tasted great! Everyone was friendly.
Wait for the food for 1h after we ordered
