This is the restaurant that all others shall be compared to. The drinks, the food, the people. All amazing. Every cocktail is made with proper ratios, balanced, perfect in all the right places. The Menu changes seasonally, (sometimes more often!) so it’s hard to recommend any dishes as they probably won’t be available in the future. However, every dish I’ve had has been a grandslam. Perfectly cooked. Perfectly seasoned. I can’t say enough good things.
Oh yeah, when you’re done eating, get the limoncello. You’re welcome.

We drove 3.5 hours from Connecticut for what we thought was dinner at a different spot across the street, which we'd confirmed earlier in the week. Upon arrival, we found out it had closed for a private event—frustrated would be an understatement! But from the moment we walked into Homestyle Hotel, everything changed for the better.
Taylor, the General Manager, greeted us with the warmest welcome and completely turned our evening around. Her kindness and immediate service—getting us drinks and snacks while we waited for the bar to open—was above and beyond. It's clear why this place comes highly recommended by our local friends.
The food? Incredible! The garlic potato smashers were next level. This one night in Ludlow became an unforgettable experience, thanks to the perfect vibe and outstanding hospitality at Homestyle Hotel. We’re already planning our next visit!

A brutal dining experience!
My wife and I arrived around 7:45pm on a Friday evening with no reservations. The hostess was kind enough to find us a table for 2. The server was initially very pleasant and helpful explaining the dining experience. I ordered a Manhattan to start. We ordered focaccia bread to start, a kale salad, lemon risotto, and NY strip to share. This was date night after all.
The bread came fairly quickly, followed shortly by the salad. The risotto took another 20 minutes. We saved some risotto thinking it would also be good with the steak. Then we waited.....and waited....and waited. Risotto turned cold, but I ate it anyway. 30 minutes passed and I began to look for our server as he had not checked in on us. I finally waived down another server and asked about our steak. He checked on it and told us it was "on the way". 45 minutes passed from the time we received our risotto until our steak arrived. By then it was 9:30 and we asked to have it boxed up to go.
We then waited again....and waited...credit card sitting on our table, and still no sign of our server. I finally got up and tracked down the hostess. I asked what happened to our server, and explained our evening. She initially seemed concerned, and insisted on notifying her manager. I said fine, but we really need to go. She then brough back our check and awkwardly said that we could either pay it, or we could speak to her manager. It was such a weird interaction....so weird that I just paid the $140 bill to get out of there. The manager then returned with our receipt, said thank you, and walked away. Bizarre, to say the least!
As we were leaving' I finally saw our server and I turned around to go and speak with him. When he saw me, he spun around and hustled the other way. As I headed out the door, the manager said "thank you, have a good evening". I stopped in my tracks, turned around, and said "what happened tonight"? She initially seemed confused about my question, until I walked her through our evening's timeline. She then said that she was recently been made aware of our situation, and that they had a new cook that they thought could handle things, but evidently not. I then reminded her that she had brought us our receipt, had not acknowledged our complaint, and that nobody in the entire restaurant had communicated to us that there were any issues or delays.
I then turned to the server (who had joined the conversation) and asked what happened to him, and that he's been MIA for almost an hour? No offer of water, no drink, no communication what soever. He simply shrugged his shoulders and said sorry. I said "now we're going home with a $35 steak that arrived 45 minutes after the last course at 9:30pm, that will likely be eaten as leftovers later in the weekend. They didn't even offer to take it off our bill.
I expressed the great disappointment in our meal, and explained the importance of communicating with their guests. I'm really not even sure who was more to blame for our experience; the server, the cook, the manager, or whoever employs them. One of the worst dining experiences we've had in a really long time!

Well mixed craft cocktails, an always changing selection of amazing options for food, and super friendly people in a laid back cozy atmosphere, make this my favorite place in town. Also check out their sister property, Main + Mountain, across the street.

I recently dined here with my family and unfortunately, my experience was just satisfactory. The ambiance was lackluster, with an uninviting atmosphere that did little to enhance the dining experience. The service was slow, leaving us waiting far too long for our drinks, food, and check. When the martinis we ordered did arrive they were horrible and when we brought it to the server’s attention she rudely attempted to give us a lesson on how martinis are made. The server broke a drink glass on our table and instead of apologizing she laughed.
When the food finally arrived, it was ok. The dishes were a bit under-seasoned, lacking the flavor and freshness one would expect from a place with such high expectations. Additionally, the portions were smaller than anticipated, which did not justify the steep prices.
Overall, our experience did not live up to the restaurant’s reputation and left much to be desired. I hope they can address these issues, as I believe there is potential if they improve their service and food quality. Until then, I’m unlikely to return.

We went to dinner here on a Saturday night and had the best time. Went with no reservations (not the best idea) but they were able to get us seats at the bar with a little wait. The bartenders absolutely made our night!! Super hospitality and friendly. Food was amazing!! Definitely alittle pricey but for the quality and freshness of the food totally worth the trip! The ribs are an absolute MUST!
Food & drinks: Great food, drinks, and people!

Nice place, very friendly service. Food rather bland, under-seasoned, and wildly overpriced. Desserts were the show stealers.
Just a heads-up, says that the plates are meant to be shared, but the portions don't really allow this as they're much too small.
Too bad, really wanted to like this place much more than I did.
This place was SO good. We had a large party and ordered a lot of different foods. The service was fantastic and we would eat here every night if we could. What a huge blessing to Ludlow - especially post flood when things got tough for the town! Anyone visiting within 2 hours of this place should hands down make the drive out - it will be worth it! We were visiting from Los Angeles and this place crushes anything we've had there.
We left talking about how good the food was all night and changing our mind about what the best dish was and why. One minute it was the Garlic Potato Smashers (which we are still thinking about one week later because of how complex and wonderful each different bite that captured each different flavor was), the next minute it was the steak, and the next it was the focaccia bread. Our daughter basically ate the huge plate of carrots by herself they were so good. We legitimately still can't make up our minds about which dish was our favorite because it was all so good in so many surprising ways.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening. Our waitress Jessica was very friendly, attentive and informative.. When asked, she gave us her suggestions on options to order. The salad was the freshest and tastiest I have ever had and the carrot appetizer was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Truly farm to table. The Cod and steak dishes left nothing to be desired and we even saved room for desert.. It might sound a bit pretentious but I was not expecting this level of service and cuisine in the middle of Vermont... Bravo!

Omg omg omg the food is 5-star all the way!
Got the cod with delicious lemon bleure blanc and the key lime pie is outstanding!
Get the pie even if you do not want dessert! You will thank me later
