Wow, what a wonderful restaurant! We had one of the best Asian dinners, creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. Umami is far above your typical Chinese restaurant, though they do have many of the standard dishes you'd expect. Worth a visit if you're in Manchester or passing through. Creative asian fusion at a reasonable price. We liked the small plates a lot, especially the seaweed salad and the ribs. It's brand new and there are a few kinks they need to work out but the food is good. I suspect it will just get better the longer they're open.
This place has what it takes to be an AMAZING restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance is amazing. We overheard each waiter recommend the bao buns so we ordered them and they were pretty subpar. I did love my ramen though it is a little different than a traditional ramen but still yummy. As for service, our waiter was not very attentive. We had to ask for the bill 3 times.
