The food and ambiance was fine but the noise level was beyond loud with tourist gathering for a weekend event with LOTS of swearing, unfortunately !! We are locals, and love our falcon bar but this has happened to us twice now with friends visiting, we will give it one more try.
The four of us were delighted by the Easter Buffet. From the ham and prime rib carving stations to the fresh baked goods and desserts - the presentation and quality of the food offerings were delicious! The staff were attentive and it was nice to see the Managers and Chefs interacting with the tables. Our servers Val and Chevaughn were super nice and the staff looked happy to be there. My favorite dish was the beet wellington in a puff pastry. The prime rib with horse radish creme was another favorite. Highly recommend a family brunch in this beautiful setting.
They lost our reservation and were not courteous after they found it. Brought the wrong entree.
I ordered a dirty martini that was more like the brine on the salt trucks used by the VT Department of Transportation. It is an absolute culinary train wreck unraveling this organization. The staff didn't understand anything about bar operations or following basic mixology. I would steer clear unless you can use their mixology to de-ice roads.

Ordered the burrata salad. It was $16 and says it comes with the following: grilled stone fruit / grapes/ local tomato/cayenne mo cashew / white balsamic gastrique. What we got got was two cashews crusted. 2 grapes cut in half. A tomato cut in half and 4 pieces of arugula put into a quart to go container for $16. We also got then meat and cheese board. It was also missing the ingredients as described and the meats and cheese were dried out. Unfortunately the staff will walk way mid order for a personal call and I suggest you take that as a red flag to dine elsewhere. I did think to address the issue with restaurant staff but they were on a personal call and pacing the corridor adjacent to the restaurant.
Service was horrid. Sat for 20 minutes before drink order was taken or anyone stopped by the table. At the 35 minute mark the server stopped by to casually tell me they didn't know how to make the drink I ordered. 10 minutes after that we were both served a drink. Delivered wrong food / didn't amend it. Generally speaking server seemed uninterested in service.

Grand and stately, the Equinox gives a beautiful first impression. The good: the property is on beautiful grounds with close by well-marked walking trails on a lovely preserve; the management is responsive, the staff friendly. The bad: the rooms are dated and not clean - we arrived to our first room to find a dried lime on the floor, towel rack ripped off the wall, and AC not working; staff couldn't give us directions to our room which required navigating various hallways and climbing a set of stairs; the room we stayed in had no hot water, a make up towel that shed black lint when used, and the lighted mirror did not work; at the bar, seats were worn and the bar full of fruit flies. Final thoughts: we were moved to a different room, we were provided drink coupons when relocated, and received a discount upon departure. This is a huge property that was obviously hit hard by the pandemic and is still struggling to recover...but it seems if they focused on repairing and booking fewer rooms and could stabilize their staff it might help them rise back up to the reputation and standards that come with a luxury resort.
Comfortable stay..very romantic spot..lots to do..shopping hiking pool hot tub steam...dinner...pillows and bed very comfortable..liked the large mirrors ..very walkable to restaurants and shopping..also bikes available
The Equinox is an Historic Inn that boasts great amenities; Spa, pool, fitness, great golf course and on-site restaurants and Bars. Having stayed there on several several occasions, most recently for a week I can say it is one of the most enjoyable and relaxing places I’ve ever stayed. The staff is so friendly, helpful and attentive. The beds and pillows very comfortable. I will stay there again, again and again! Thank you!

We stayed at Meadow House, which was FANTASTIC!!! The house was spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The design was perfect for our family! There are four master bedroom suites and a twin room with its own bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the overall decor lovely. There were also two living room areas with sofa beds. We also enjoyed the large and fully equipped kitchen. The house is located in front of a nice pond and very close to the main hotel building, with additional amenities. I really enjoyed staying at Meadow House and highly recommend staying at Meadow House. It’s wonderful!
Disappointing. The mattress was so soft and worn that we could feel the bed springs. The bathroom was very poorly designed. There are many hidden fees — resort fee (we used nothing) and an historical preservation fee. They say they have chargers for cars, but they’re essentially household plugs. Our plug-in-hybrid took 11 hrs to charge vs 4 hours normally. The restaurant was ok. Few vegetarian options. There are better places to eat nearby. Location is nice and the room was quiet. The people who work there are delightful.
For years we visited Manchester. We always wanted to stay at The Equinox. Unfortunately, we did. It’s understaffed and overpriced. Covid must have forced the owners to near bankruptcy. Not only are things worn and threadbare but also we put up with cold showers. There are no ash trays outside the many entrances. Thus, we were treated to stacks of cigarette butts whenever we made the trek to the parking lot. Gardens were either weed or grass choked. There is one ice machine to serve the entire complex. Good luck finding it. The web site says that small plates are available in the Marsh Tavern. They aren’t. They only offer the Chop House menu. For a great dinner head to Ye Olde Tavern (early reservations a must). For breakfast, you can’t beat Bob’s Diner on the road to Bromley.
The Equinox is beyond a disaster. The curb appeal when you pull up is wonderful. As soon as you walk through the front doors is where the truth is told. The hotel is out dated by 30 years. Carpets, walls lights, doors, tile, furniture, elevators are 25 years beyond their useful life. Our mattress bed tag was over 15 years old. The towels in the room are better at a Hampton inn, and no Robes to be found. The main bar is filthy dirty. The glass where the alcohol is stored has not been cleaned, the stainless appliances behind the bar filthy. The ornate grates on the floors in hallways are rusted and waiting for someone to cut their feet. We had ants crawling on our walls in our room and they never sent anyone to kill them. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms, so the mirrors steam up and the ceiling tile had mold on it. We valet parked our car and when we went to get it there was no valet attendant available so I walked across the road in the pouring rain to retrieve may car. The Chop House Restaurant was also horrendous. There where 4 tables filled on Friday evening when we arrived at 6:30 pm. Besides the dinner taking over 2.5 hours to get served, they twice brought to our table another tables appetizers and then another tables main course. Both times taking the food from our table and serving it to another table after it had been served to us. The General Manager could not have been nicer and more understanding. The place needs to under go a complete gut renovation before I would ever consider returning. There are many other choices in the area. Until this place is renovated- STAY AWAY
My wife and I stayed here as a couple, and more recently as a new family. We brought our 3 mos old and mother in law this August, and enjoyed our stay. Why you ask? We love the pool, the beds are comfortable, the area has wonderful restaurants, and the nature hikes behind the property are excellent. The Equinox has plenty of space to wander indoors as well with comfy couches and chairs for reading, drawing, maybe napping? I love the steam room and sauna, though both need a little TLC these days. Last winter they had an arcade which we really enjoyed, and with summer days—we've enjoyed their lawn games and outdoor firepit. The rates can be reasonable and we will quite likely return.
