Quintessential VT dining at its finest... Would love to enjoy the Inn when the opportunity strikes, but the restaurant experience was an amazing first impression

This was my second time visiting and it won't be the last! The Reluctant Panther always offers incredible service and they really put a lot of heart in the little details. Richard is always an absolute delight and I was so happy to see that he was there this time again. Don't forget to eat at their in-house restaurant. I had the scallops and they were so good I almost cried! Thank you again, Reluctant Panther for such a wonderful stay! The only thing I could wish for for the future is a stamp card to collect a stamp from each of the rooms I've stayed in. They are all so beautiful and unique and I hope to stay at them all some day!

Stayed for the 2 night weekday Epicurean stay and could not recommend it more! It is exactly what you would want out of a Vermont Inn/Hallmark movie and I will be back. The price point was better than expected for 2 nights, including breakfast each day, a wine and cheese plate upon arrival, birthday treats and a 3 course meal for 2. (499 before extras and taxes)The staff were all pleasant,. Our room was perfect,; loved the remote fireplace, the library esthetic and the jetted bathtub. Parking was easy and plentiful. I cannot wait to return.PLEASE go here for a romantic and cozy night. You will not be disappointed.

beautiful restaurant - large table was great and nice spacing between tables lovely service appreciate the bread and little chocolates delicious cocktail entrees were delicious broccoli soup was watery and disappointing will be back

Very good dinner, service and ambiance. It was a little noisier than we expected and would have liked but the overall experience was still very good. My wife had the short ribs which she really enjoyed and I had the duck breast which was excellent. I also must recommend the broccoli and Gouda soup. We will definitely return.

Fantastic restaurant. Incredible thoughts goes into every item on the plate. And the vegetables (and sides) are every bit as compelling as the featured protein. They also handle allergies and intolerances (gluten, dairy, soy) with grace and creativity. Go and enjoy!

The service at the Reluctant Panther Inn was the best that I’ve ever experienced, and I have traveled quite a lot! Every staff member was friendly, gracious, accommodating, and went above and beyond expectations. For example, I asked a staff member if there was a microwave I could use to heat up some leftovers. She took my take out container, disappeared into the restaurant, and returned with my food warmed up in a porcelain dish! She even made sure I had the right silverware, and made sure I had a way to carry the hot bowl without burning my hands. Our favorite service was the breakfast delivery. Our suite was in a separate building from the restaurant, and the door opened outside into the February cold. Even so, a lovely warm breakfast showed up on our doorstep every morning in a charming picnic basket. Real dishes and cloth napkins! We stayed in the Florist Suite, which was very nice and spacious. A lovely place for a romantic weekend.

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful inn for a few days while visiting family in the area. We will definitely be back. This is the place to go if you really want something truly special . From the decor, service, ambiance, cocktails and yes of course the delicious food , everything was perfection . We loved the pace of the meal, never rushed yet we never waited either . You won't be disappointed.

Our overnight at the Reluctant Panther was magnificent, a five-star experience in every way. The Inn is one of the finest in Vermont, if not in all New England, and is indeed a quintessential New England lodging. If they were making a movie about a beautiful Vermont inn, this would be the choice. The room sparkled, well-decorated from its art and crown molding to the see-through gas fireplace in bedroom and bath. The bath is larger than some motel rooms and in pristine condition, although the shower could have used another grab bar closer to the head. The bed was comfortable beyond anything you can imagine – how do they make it so refreshing, inviting, and satisfying? Have a hard time sleeping? Come here and find soothing rest. Dining at the Reluctant Panther was an adventure, from its sparkling dining room as nice as any that could be found, to the staff tending to every need and the original art gracing the walls. Speaking of which, one of our party has significant allergies and a complicated list of things that cannot be consumed (e.g., dairy, butter, high fructose, oranges, mushrooms, etc.) The chef prepared well in advance and walked the second mile to accommodate the needs, to the extraordinary delight of the one with allergies. If you have any or many allergies, come here and they will make something special just for you. WARNING: It is highly possible to over eat! Everything is so exemplar that it beckons you to order and eat more than you should. Check-in and check-out were personal and delightful – it was a pleasure to meet these folks who welcomed us and aided in whatever was needed. The cost for the room and restaurant was reasonable, a good value, especially when compared to other high-end boutique lodgings. I hope we have the opportunity to return again and again to work our way around the inn by sampling every room in the place. And, should romance be your interest, the Reluctant Panther is second to none.

The visit here was part of the holiday tour of Vermont Country Inns to support the local food bank. We arrived after the 3pm time slot so we didnt get to see the rooms but the Inn is pretty and centrally located in Manchester. Its very comfortable and would make a romantic little get away for couples wanting to enjoy the sights of Manchester

We've meant to dine here for quite some time due to many very good reviews. Well, something has definitely changed. I've not written but one poor review in many, many years, but felt the owners/chef needed to know this. My wife and I felt the food, which is the main reason to visit a place, was poor at best. I might have had three bites from my plate. The waitress never asked why I didn't eat my food. My wife had the chicken which was so overcooked she needed a drink to swallow. Needless to say, we will not return and hopefully the team at Reluctant Panther can review what is causing this poor review as well as others of late.
