The Barn is such a great place to eat. Nice casual atmosphere. Im sure in the winter when they have the fire place burning wood will be amazing. The food was delicious, the chocolate martini was sooo good and the service was excellent. This is a hidden gem!

Have been to this place one other time and loved the tavern. Was very quick getting us in and seated with drinks and the food was delicious. They had a live band that night so it was a little loud but was pleasant.
When I went recently it was horrible. Parking is never a good situation as it’s a small parking lot but we eventually found a spot. We went inside and it wasn’t too busy, right after they opened but it still took 15 minutes to realize we walked in the door. And then the waitresses still didn’t seat us for another 15-20 as they were talking to everyone and trying to figure out who was gonna sit us(party of 4) . Once we got seated it took 30 minutes for her to come over and ask for our drink order. We waited an hour for our drinks in what time she came and took our food order but we were watching other tables who came in after us getting their drinks. It was another hour and a half before our food came out. We were watching people who came in after us leave. People who we spoke to in the parking lot(table of 3) were long gone. The waitresses with in that few hour span never even asked if we would like another drink order or stopped in to check on anything. I can say that as locals who were born and raised in Vermont, we will be telling everyone not to come . Worst experience we ever had. It’s sad to see that this business seems to be one who favors out of staters over the people who will always be here to support. I only say this as there was only one other Vermont car in the parking lot and they also were not pleased with their service. He said he ended up walking out due to the place was empty and they were still waiting for service.

My husband and I always eat at The Barn when we come up from Connecticut every few years. We had early dinner reservations in the tavern on Friday evening, and Teddy took great care of us. He had the swordfish and the shrimp cocktail. He highly recommends both and said they were some of the best he's ever had. I had the chicken parmesan, and I would also recommend it. It comes with bucatini, which is one of my favorite pastas. Teddy also brought us spectacular bread and warm butter. We had great drinks-he had a Moscow Mule and I had a Dirty Shirley. We were so full that we had to skip dessert, but I'm sure that would have been great, too.

Food was great, service was a little slow, but he seemed nervous. Wish they put salt&pepper on the table. But Parking is a Nightmare. I recommend you drive a small compact car if your going to eat here and not a GMC 3500 Like we have

Made a point to visiting The Barn after not being there in the two years since the new owners took over. We sat at the bar in the tavern - it is a great atmosphere. Owner/bartender pours a solid drink - no skimping. My wife had a salad and added chicken breast - liked it. I had the Legacy Pasta entree, and it was very good. Ceasar salad also good. The owner/bartender informed us that his partner makes all of the desserts, so we gave the tiramisu a try. It was excellent, though maybe a little less cocoa powder on top would be nice.

First time visiting, celebrating my husband's birthday. Great evening! Definitely want to come back when there's live music downstairs!

Disappointing. My husband and I came for our anniversary dinner and while the cheeseboard was good and our entrees were fine, the service was extremely slow while not being very busy and everything is way overpriced for what it is. We left feeling disappointed and like we wasted our money. I would not recommend.

The Barn is simply the best! This is our go-to spot for dinner and drinks in the area. Food is excellent. Can’t go wrong with any of their meat dishes and make sure to order the ginger calamari… it’s an absolute standout! As others have said, the atmosphere is great as the interior of the main dining room is beautiful and everyone working there is so friendly and accommodating.

Our family went for a graduation dinner. 3 of us are vegan, 1 vegetarian. They made suggestions and accommodated diets by altering a few dishes for the vegans. Everything was very delicious and creative. The pickle selection appetizer was excellent as was the terrine, pasta and salmon dish. We were impressed and pleased. We would highly recommend!

We have eaten at The Barn Restaurant many times. My husband and I went recently for our Anniversary. I ordered a pasta dish and added shrimp to it. When the waitress brought it to the table the seafood smell was very bad and strong smelling. My husband tasted the shrimp and they were bad. I removed them from the pasta and ate the pasta dish which was very good. Our disappointment was that the manager would not even come to the table and talk to us, she made the waitress tell us that there was nothing wrong with the shrimp and she was not going to remove the 18.00 add on for the shrimp. She didn't think they smelled bad. The odor was so strong while they remained on the table it was hard to enjoy our dinner. We were not asking for the meal to be credited just the stinky shrimp that were obviously bad. We don't mind paying for good food but disappointed to have to pay for something that obviously bad! We felt bad for the waitress having to do the managers job!
