A charming little spot that has a delightful name.

The soup I had reminded me of something a loved one would have made for me when I was sick. It was well-seasoned and had lots of flavor but the ingredients used were more important than what could be added to change them. A refreshing take in a world flooded with truffle oil and sriracha.
They also serve cafe beverages. Nothing is made with a massive, industrial espresso juggernaut. Even the coffee here has a chill vibe.
All of the food has a rustic quality that matches the homemade flavors and the homey decor. It's the kind of hip joint that the Brooklyn scene popularized but places like Outerspice perfected with well-sourced ingredients, customer service, and rural location and clientel. The sign says most of what you could want to know about this restaurant. Bold, simple, and smart.

It's totally out of my way but I love this place. Will stop in any time I'm in the area. Great vibes, great food, great coffee. Try the Malloy

First visit, just days after they opened, we went to look at the menu (as it wasn’t posted online). Two young women behind the counter stared at us, but didn’t greet us. Come on, you could at least say “hi.”

Second visit, the service was better, but the food (pancakes) were fairly basic and pricey for what it was. The coffee was fine, nothing memorable.

Honestly, I like the artsy decor, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return to Outerspice. I hope it improves, but rumor has it the owners are impervious to change and suggestions. Such ego will kill a business.

I've driven past this place a lot on the way to Montpellier and decided to give it a try for brunch. It was a hoot. I got the egg and sausage sandwich and it was a great deal. The latte not so much, though, kinda small for the price I should have gone with regular coffee since it was all you could drink. The staff was super friendly and personable. The place was filled with local regulars yakking it up, so the whole affair felt like a friendly breakfast spot. The interior decoration is eclectic and weird...just my type. I'll definitely come back.

Amazing quaint breakfast spot in Plainfield. Has to be the most amazing French toast I have ever had in my life. I never finish my plate anywhere, but finished it twice at this spot! Definitely recommend

The place is disgusting! The owner is rude and arrogant! Ordered French toast and it was the most bland French toast ever! Basically eggwash on bread. Then, after literally the first bite I complained he initially offered to replace it. I went for the pancakes instead. Those came out almost as thin as crepes. Then, he told me he didn't want my business and gave me a hard time when I asked for my money back! There were bugs crawling around and something floating in the drinking water that they let every customer handle the same jug.🤢🤮
That place is way over priced for how dirty it is and how less than mediocre the food is! Watch out! The place is going to get someone sick!

Funky and comfortable breakfast spot. Enjoyed our food and the really nice chill vibe of the place as we sat at the big table in the back. Staff was very genuine and nice and attentive. Recommend.

This restaurant has become a great place to meet friends for coffee, breakfast or lunch. Very tasty breakfast sandwiches and bagels and excellent espresso drinks. Attentive friendly service, good playlist in the background, and an authentically local Vermont experience.

Very Disappointed. Have drove by for years.... should of kept going. Unfortunately, our $13 omelet was undercooked $10 waffel was cold. $5 for 2 slices of bacon....$6 homefries were warm all 10 of them... there goes $44 of my hard earned $$$
