I would have given thid 5 stars but the seats in this charming, quirky, fun diner are terribly hard and terribly uncomfortable. The food, though, is very good. Large portions. Homemade pie that was excellent.

A must-stop for us when we head up north, just off I-91. Small place, and can be really crowded on weekends. Service can suffer when they're busy, but the food is always top notch.First off, the coffee is top notch! This is real maple syrup country, and you'll get it, always warm, with pancake, French toast, and waffle orders. My favorite is the Cajun skillet. It is a bit spicy (I'm not complaining), but if that's not your style, you probably already avoid foods with the word "Cajun" in the title.Home fries are homemade, of course, sliced very thin. Not my favorite style, but they are sincere. Many, many wonderful bread choices for toast.

Quite possibly the best breakfast I have ever had. Small cozy place with great service and incredible food. Everything was amazing-but the pancakes are out of this world.Update: we went back the next day! The breakfast was just as delicious and we ordered cookies to go and they were 10/10

One of the best breakfast places in New England. Food was amazing and service excellent! There is limited parking and the Diner is small yet food came out rather quickly. A must stop in Vermont!

RUN don't walk to the Putney Diner! My favorite place to go for breakfast. The lattes are amazing and creative. Today I had a s'mores latte, last time I had a Nutella latte. Breakfast today was the Vermonter omelette stuffed with cheddar cheese, crispy ham, bacon and sausage. Don't even get me started in the home fries! Delish! Comfortable, clean atmosphere and friendly people. Super service!

So, sometimes the service here can be cranky. But I kind of like a cranky diner, myself. But the food is great. The coffee and espresso drinks are great. You really can't go wrong. The line can be long, but it usually goes really fast.

A terrific small, friendly diner!

Maple Latte with almond milk was very good. French toast was absolutely outstanding. You'd think that would be a given, but lately it seems like everyone is using stale, tasteless bread these days to cut corners, but the quality was exactly how I liked it, goopy, soft, warm and flavorful. The butter packets that they give you on the side were fine because it melted quickly on the bread since it was nice and hot when they got it to the table. Again, wouldn't expect French toast needing such a rave review, but for me it has been one terrible dish after another between iHOP and other local diners and they thankfully delivered on my favorite breakfast option.

This used to be an amazing place. The staff now is useless. Took 20 minutes just to order. The food got slammed on the table without a single word spoken to us as she grunted and walked away. You had to clear your own table and box your own left overs to go home with. Never checked on us. Had to approach the counter to get the bill. Why are we even tipping at this point. I get it, inflation, but $49.00 for a burger, fries, sandwich, fries and 2 average sized drinks. Taste wise the food was HEAVENLY, never enjoyed such a good Thanksgiving sandwich better. But $49? Nope. Sad, I never minded taking the trip up there but never again. Their staff could do SO much better by at least smiling. Not a fan of having my plate slammed on the table.

We stopped at the Putney Diner for lunch on our way back home to northern Vermont. This is a really excellent down home place! The food was exceptional and definitely made with love. My husband had the hot open face roast beef sandwich, which he said was delicious and I had a meatloaf sandwich on cranberry bread that was spectacular! If you’re nearby, or passing through Putney on interstate 91, definitely stop. You won’t be sorry.Kid-friendliness: Games were available to play at your table while waiting.

Great little hole-in-the-wall diner. The most AMAZING home fries! They often have a line and space is very tight- NOT wheelchair accessible. A bit pricey, $40-$45 for 2 people with good sized breakfasts. Staff is very friendly, talkative if you sit at the counter. Kitchen is a bit slow when they are full-fir obvious reasons- so don't bother if you're in a big hurry! All in all, DEFINITELY worth a stop!Parking: Parking is problematic, there are only a half dozen spots in front. Be prepared to walk a few blocks.Kid-friendliness: Lots of high chairs and menu options. They even make sure the hot chocolates are only warm!Wheelchair accessibility: NOT. at all. Steps up twice to enter and ZERO room inside to maneuver a chair.
