An absolute hidden gem. The rotating menu, amazing space, lovely service and local food make for an amazing experience, for a very reasonable price.

The Greenery is always the go-to place when you want some good quality, often local food, prepared quite well. I have eaten there many times over the last 10 years and I have never been disappointed. To make things a notch sweeter, the owner is always there and cares about her clientele. If you are looking for a little bit of ambiance, with personable service and quality food, visit the Gleanery.

I would like to say we had very high hopes based on their website offerings. We arrived for our 7:00pm reservation and was told our table wasn't ready. This was the first hint we should leave. The dining room was empty. We were seated 7:30 and the maître day (obviously under an enormous amount of stress, shuffling back-and-forth about 100 miles an hour for no apparent reason) there were 4 tables and 3 serves on the floor. We ordered the bolognese and a mushroom Risotto. It took about 20 minutes or so, the bolognese was reheated pasta with a cold center. The rigatoni was smashed and completely uneatable. The Risotto had a maple syrup glaze on it was very sweet? We quickly told the waitress we were not going to eat these dishes and the reason why and she confirmed they were reheats. Yikes, we left very quickly, went back to our AIRBNB and cooked in. Not a lot of choices in Putney VT but the structure it self had promise. Message to the owner, create a pub menu a line cook could master. stay away from full on-trays. . We ran so fast I didn't take an any picture of the meals.

Really truly wanted to eat here. Used google to make a 630 reservation. Arrived at 625 and sat until 725 and was never seated. Menu looked amazing but there were 2 wait staff for the entire restaurant and bar area, it was never gonna work. Please hire up if you can! Would love to eat here.

Great casual eatery in Putney. Food is excellent, service can be a little slow but the atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasant so you don't mind so much. Go on Thursday when they have a live jazz trio.

I was in Putney for a couple of nights and decided to try here for dinner. It was a really nice dinner. Great food and atmosphere. You could tell it was a place where locals went to because people kept seeing others that they know. Recommend if you’re

We came to the Gleanery on a chilly Thursday night in November and were immediately warmed by the cozy atmosphere, yummy food, friendly staff, and beautiful live music.

Been there many times looks like they have a different Chef because the quality of the cooking has gone markedly downhill. The pasta seem to be routinely overcooked and flaccid. The more creative sounding dishes have been quite disappointing recently particularly the squash stuffed with risotto. It was oily and less than mediocre. Too bad because it was once a wonderful place to enjoy a beautiful meal.

We live locally and have been to the Gleanery many times over the years. Dining there used to feel like a special occasion, the food was beautifully prepared with good ingredients, nicely presented and tasty. Recently the three pasta dishes at our table five were disappointing. The pasta overcooked and flaccid. The risotto stuffed squash was greasy and disappointing, none of the featured ingredients stood out in any way. The only person on our table satisfied with their meal had ordered the burger. On another visit the two enchilada dishes tried were not very good at all, sloppy and bland, the salsa served with it very disappointing and did not seem freshly made but rather something out of a jar with very little spice to it. Another at our table found the burger to be just fine. We will probably return just to enjoy a meal out with friends but will stay with me now that what the kitchen can handle: burgers. Lesson learned.

Yum! Great farm to table option in the area of Walpole and Brattleboro. We would have eaten anything on the menu but had the grilled hanger steak with vegetables and potatoes and the local mushroom risotto. Nice bread with chive butter to start and they have a full bar so had a nice pour dirty martini. The ambiance was nice too - good jazz and very homey - like being invited to dinner at someone’s farm house. Street parking was easy and a few vegetarian options. Pro tip: portions are larger so would recommend sharing!

Can't rate anything because we never got the opportunity. They advertise take out so we made the drive to discover that they don'. Now they will tske your order and walk it outside to their deck and probably even prepare a Doggy bag with your leftovers but they will not male a to go bag for you.

We had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was perfect. I can't wait to go back. Our son just started at Landmark College nearby, so we are happy to have found this gem in Putney.
