My dad has Parkinson's disease and we often take him for drives and out to lunch, the Rochester cafe is one of our favorite places. It's accessible, so he can use his wheelchair or walker, the staff is very accommodating when we arrive, and they food is always fresh. But my favorite is their espresso! Finally a safe haven away from lighter roast espresso! They use traditional dark roast espresso AND they don't drown their cappuccino in milk. There is no other place in Addison or Rutland county that does both to make an authentic cappuccino. Please never down grade your espresso beans to a lighter roast! You're one of the last cafes in the state to use dark roast.

My family and I have been coming here since the 90's and ALWAYS had fantastic service! Well this year (October of 2025) there's is a bare minimum of service! We spent over $80 and was never told we have to go and make our own coffee...they no longer bring it to you...and you have to wait in the lobby to choose your meal before being seated so you have to stand in the way of the door where people come in while trying to choose what you want to eat all while trying to get out of people's way...and they also do not have silverware on the table so you have to go get yourself but yet they will leave a random jar of sugar on the table when you have to leave the table to make your coffee...sad to see such a great restaurant back in the day slowly falling off...even McDonald's will bring everything out to you for you and that's fast food...this place is supposed to be fancier but poor service...this will be the last time our family comes to eat here ..we will go up there road into Hancock at the other diner for now on....

My husband and I have been going to This restaurant for the last 25 years, but haven't been recently due to hectic schedules. We came this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary in this wonderful town and were very disappointed. To start, you have to order, pay and tip before you sit down. How do you expect a tip before you even get your service? Then you don't get service, you have to collect your own silverware, find your own table and bus and clear your table at the end. This isn't a fast food establishment, this is a place you go to enjoy a nice breakfast that your paying almost 50 bucks for 2 people. The only service that we got was bringing the food to the table where at this point you should have just had me pick it up at the counter. Then I wanted a glass of juice but decided against as it would entail waking back up to the counter and paying with my debit card an additional fee rather then being able to just add on to my bill. Let's talk about the food, tastes good, not 50 dollars worth (this includes tip). The pancakes are a quarter the size and have as good as they used to be. The idea that we wanted a wonderful vermont county store experience and it felt like I was in a Chick-fil-A is laughable. Good luck, who's ever idea this is to try and cut cost, it's not to late...you will lose repeat business with this plan.

Great day to sit outside and enjoy a wrap. I had one with grilled chicken, goat cheese, carrots, greens and minus the avocado. It was such a great wrap. I don’t know if I was starving or what but so good. Customer service top notch.

My husband and I stopped here in a whim. We shared a North Hollow Farm Burger and it did not disappoint. Big plus they were able to make it gluten free. The staff was amazing and sitting on the porch was delightful. Would come back here again.

This has been a preferred stop for a relaxed breakfast or lunch for over three decades, but no more. Instead of table service, you now order, pay, tip (before they do anything) collect flatware and napkins, get your own coffee and then wait for someone to drop a few plates in front of you. They might as well put a kiosk up front so you can order without any human interaction at all. It's still a cute place with nice seating indoors and out, but it's a shame they've ceased operating as a true restaurant because it always had such a nice and welcoming feel.

The Rochester Cafe & Country Store has been on my list to check out for a while! I finally stopped in and had a wonderful Mocha with a mountain of whipped cream! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Waited an hour and a half before we got served. And they gave my 17 year old a kids meal when asked for a big meal

Perfect stop for a break while transiting Vermont Route 100 Scenic byway south to north on my motorcycle. Terrific food (mango iced tea with turkey sandwich and homemade potato chips for me); wonderful service: friendly and efficient without being rushed; and wi-fi and electrical plugs for recharging phones and refreshing Googlemaps were very welcome bonus features. Sitting outside in the shade on the veranda made this stop absolutely perfect!

While this looked like a very cute place to grab a bite, we stood at the counter so long to buy merchandise and were ignored that we chose not to order drinks here and instead went across the street.
