Awesome cozy dive bar. We're from out of town and are wary about trying places like this especially on weekends, but very glad we checked it out. Staff was friendly and the patrons too. Wasn't uncomfortably busy on a Saturday night. Excellent prices on drinks. The pool table, sticks, and setup was nearly the nicest I've ever seen at a bar, and only The Three Needs in Burlington can compete here. It's over an hour drive for us, but we'll definitely be making the trip again just to visit this place. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

4 TVs to watch the games. Full bar with decent craft brews on tap, plus the usual domestic beers. Parking is not bad, with lots of spaces on the street or the small parking lot beside it. The city doesn't enforce meters after dark, it seems. One star for food because they don't serve any! But you can bring in food. Lots of good restaurants within a minute walk, and you can bring it in with you. Good pool table, just one, but it's enough. A few booths for more intimate gatherings. Definitely a "locals" place that openly welcomes outsiders. Has a nice outdoor patio area. If I had to say anything negative, it would be that it isn't bigger, and I'd wish for more craft brews on tap (only 4, though they have cans of others). It can get warm inside in winter, so dress accordingly. Good for conversation since the music is low and the noise is less than what you'd find in an Olive Garden. With this long review, you can tell this is my favorite local place. The place has been here for decades, a rare find these days.

Very unprofessional! My husband and I had drinks with a girl we met at dinner at the establishment we were at prior to Two Shea’s. The girl recommended our next stop on our visit to small town Rutland be this local dive bar. We get there all seemed okay but by my husbands 3rd margarita the bar tender starts to get really rude about his consumption. My husband is a really big guy so it seemed unnecessary her concern but to give her the benefit of the doubt she just isn’t custom to his naturally very big personality and must have saw it as too intoxicated. No big deal at all we appreciate a bar tender that looks out for their patrons. She however obviously did not care for my husband and was pretty unfriendly to the point we could tell it was time to leave. We got there around 930 and left around 11 or shortly after. We cashed out and I requested the girls 3 martinis be added to our tab. We had a total of 6 martinis and 3 margaritas between the 3 of us. I am used to big city prices so I didn’t think anything initially and I signed the 170$ bill and went on our way. When I mentioned the bill to my husband it was apparent something wasn’t accurate. I went back and requested the itemized bill and low and behold 10 additional drinks were added to our tab. We tried to resolve it with the owner but that was unsuccessful so we had to go to the trouble to disputing our charges with Amex platinum. Needless to say don’t waste your time on this place and if you do don’t be surprised if something shady happens. Best of luck to this owner and future success.

TERRIBLE BARTENDER!!!!!!! Will NEVER go back again!!!!!!! We walked in the door and the bartender was on the phone - barely looked up at us yet screamed "NO DOGS ALLOWED"!!!! I told her our dog was a service dog - she rolled her eyes and mumbled "mmmmm hmmmm" under her breath. We walked out!!!! Who needs that????? RUDE!!!!!!
