I am Hispanic and this was neither Mexican nor Tex mex. Let me preface by saying they are JUST starting out. So give them a chance. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Safe bet? American style burrito. Massive portion for your buck.Pros: Definitely order the ELOTE/street corn, you’ll thank me later. Nachos are good too, massive portion, and Tres leches cake is incredible. Margaritas are dirt cheap and pretty ok.Now the Cons: salsa tastes like nothing. No kick.Guacamole is not guacamole. It’s a salsa verde with sour cream/salsita hybrid-not good, not the guacamole you’re used to, no avocado in it.SKIP. The sopes are a hard skip, wife had the Huaraches and they were bad, really bad (wet lettuce on hot puffed tortilla leads to mess) Quesobirria tacos were just ok. Nothing like you’ve seen online. Also, side note: NO baby changing table in either restroom. Need one ASAP. Staff are young and a little clueless. They try though.I hope they read this and know it comes from a place of love and understanding. I want them to get better so St albans gets some real Mexican food. Ustedes pueden mejorar y crecer.

The sopes, huraches and burrito bowl we ordered were all delicious and fresh! The food came out super quick and all the staff were friendly. When the hot sauce is out but they're going to go make some fresh real quick, that's a place I'll go back too!

Quiet atmosphere not many people, definitely deserves to be full. All the food my group ordered came out real quick after ordering. Pricing is decent. Food was great, fajitas were 4/5 enchiladas 5/5, burrito was huge. Tamales were 4/5, chimichangas 5/5.

Food was wonderful! So happy to have a great family-run Mexican restaurant nearby. My husband and I are from California and Mexico and usually cook our Mexican cuisine at home because we haven't found anywhere that's better yet.We had the 3 taco plate (chicken, carnitas, and al pastor), the mole enchiladas, and tres leches cake. The al pastor was super tasty; carnitas tasted fresh and juicy, chicken was not over cooked; tortillas are homemade and delicious. The mole had great flavor as well. We ordered the tres leches on a whim and it was amazing! The rice and beans side didn't taste freshly made; would love some house made beans & red rice in the future, but might just order other dishes in the meantime. Will be back again and again. ❤️

$15.00 for 3 TINY Birria Tacos with ZERO flavor. I was excited for a good Birria Taco in VT, but was very disappointed. My husband's enchiladas were tiny for the price as well. We were both sick the whole night after too.

***update 12-12-23** Wow, the food has gotten even better. The restraunt is decorated beautifully, the front desk area is full of wonderful items, I love the bobblehead wood carved creatures. There's more food options! Give them multiple tries, the food is great and so is the staff! *** It is very nice to have this new option in St. Albans. I have to say the wait stuff did very well on their toes even though you could tell they were overwhelmed by the sudden rush that came in. People need to remember that two teenage girls are not fully equipped to run in front of house and most restaurants have a support staff which they did not. They were waiting on every table as well as doing the to-go orders. It's a lot of volume and I was so grateful to see the few people who were kind and courteous. The food has gotten much better since the soft opening the portion seemed better. The sopas were quite tasty and the barrier was tender and delicate. I would recommend more salsa with the chips as there's barely enough for half. But all in all, it's a tasty spot. The staff does care and they're trying and a little bit of patience to help support this fresh business from the community is just going to help it excel in the future.

Los Jefes is the real deal. Booth seating with fast friendly service. There were a lot of proteins to choose from, and I was happy to see chorizo among them. It was a good price for a filling meal. The chorizo enchiladas I had were flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Gracias para la comida rica. Muy auténtico!

Reading many of the reviews I wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt but as it turned out, it was not a good experience. I was seated in an almost empty dining room on Saturday for lunch. The house music was obnoxiously loud and made it difficult to hear the server. Upon placing my order, I was given a basket of chips and :salsa, the salsa having absolutely no flavor and had the consistency of ketchup. I ordered a side of guacamole, again flavorless and was a pale green paste with no resemblance to guacamole. I then waited for 35 minutes for my enchiladas to arrive, a long wait considering I was the only customer at that point. Meanwhile I sat and listened to someone throwing a ball against the wall continuously, a crying child and the thumping bass of the house music coming from the kitchen. The enchiladas were very bland, the rice was instant rice that was still smoking wet and the beans were a flavorless puree. This was just an all-around terrible experience. Consider yourself warned.
