This place has literally the worst ham I've ever tasted. I got the eggs benedict and the ham was gross. I figured I just got unlucky. We went there again. I got something else that came with ham on the side. Once again it tasted like a dish rag. Do not get the ham.

The best restaurant on the planet. I moved away from Vermont 3 years ago and still think about the breakfast, confit salad and beautiful space. I can’t wait to go back! Still in withdrawal after going most weekends. Ashley is the best and the whole team is amazing!

My partner and I visited for brunch this morning. While the food was overall excellent, there were a few things that are keeping it from a 5 star rating from us.

Items ordered: Brioche French toast, Breakfast in Jersey, popover

Pros:
- The quality of the food was phenomenal. Fresh and hot. The French toast was flavorful and sweet, almost perfect.
- The breakfast sandwich was flavorful and the portion size was good.
- I can confidently say the homefries were the best I've ever had, and I've had a ton of homefries over the years across New England
- Waitstaff is very friendly, hard working, and accomodating
- Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food; much less than I've paid at far worse places!

Cons:
- Wait times were VERY high. When we arrived around 11:15, we were quoted at 30 minutes but got in sooner. The couple after us was quoted at 50-70 minutes. If you're going to come, her here early if you can
- The breakfast sandwich didn't say it came with homefries, so my partner ordered a side of them instead, but it ended up coming with them anyway. So we got incurred a charge that could have been avoided
- The popover was unfortunately overcooked and was supposed to come with marmalade but did not
- Only a few Waitstaff which can make service a bit slow. This place would run much more efficiently if they hired on another waiter.

Overall: We would absolutely come back I would recommend Rustic Roots to anyone in the area looking for a nice breakfast, even if you have to go a bit out of the way. If they can fix up the few issues mentioned, it would be an easy 5 stars!

Parking: There is a small lot to park in at the back which can fill quickly

Meh. Beautiful location. Nice atmosphere. Food was meh. Wait staff was really nice.

Updated review:
I initially didn't plan to write a detailed review, but the owner's response prompted me to share my experience. After I described the food as 'meh', the owner insulted me by suggesting I should stick to McDonald's. The truth is, neither meal had any flavor; both were bland, overcooked, and overpriced. Even the Bloody Mary lacked flavor, and I had to add hot sauce to make it palatable. The service was extremely slow and inefficient, likely due to poor management.

I wouldn't recommend this place, nor would I return. The owner's insulting response to my feedback—despite my praise for the setting and atmosphere—speaks volumes about their attitude toward customers. My McDonald's comment was meant as a joke, but it turns out, you’re not even at that level. You're just a restaurant with a beautiful setting and a nice atmosphere but 'meh' food.
