The food was great and the service was fantastic! The only problem is their specials are changing regularly and I can't possibly get there every night!!! Can't wait for the summer to eat outside with our lab!

What an amazing find. Came from NY to Vermont for a ski trip and just saw this quaint little place on the side of the road and decided to go for dinner one night. I had the burger which was totally delicious and my wife had the short rib special which was also delicious. Summed it all up with a maple pie ( forgot the actual name) also delicious. There was also a small store connected by the parking lot that had great gifts for the family. A must try.

Local Vermont vibes! If your looking delicious food served by friendly staff the Rustic Rooster is the place for you. Be careful this hidden gem is off VT Route 103 southbound side, while the gps notes the resteraunt is in Shrewsbury, VT (Cuttingsville is closer). Blink and you may miss it. Offering daily and a full menu, the Rustic Rooster has plenty to choose from. I decided on picking a cup of the potato and bacon soup appetizer and Asian wrap from the specials menu. Both were very good. On tap, the Rustic Rooster had a decent beer selection. The seasonal draft was a stout, I'm not a fan so I chose the Catamount IPA which was ok. It definitely does not match up with Fiddleheads IPA which was also available! The Rustic Rooster is worth a visit when traveling in central Vermont.

This was such a fantastic experience! Donna the owner is just an absolute delight! I have never been anywhere where the owner takes care of you and takes the time to get to know you. My dinner amazing! This is a once in a lifetime experience. Donna and the restaurant is whole vibe and I was totally there for it. Don’t miss out on this fabulous restaurant ❤️

My friend and I sat at the bar and had amazing service from the owner Greg. Food was delicious, and came out in a timely manner. The drinks were great, we had the Donna-tini and loved it!!! We enjoyed our dinner so much, that we went back the next morning for Sunday brunch! 😋 Would love to come back in future visits to the area!

We stopped in after driving all day in torrential rains. Service was very friendly and the food was great. I could drink their bbq sauce and the brownie sundae is something I will think about for the rest of my life!
The Rustic Rooster is one of those rare Vermont gems you almost don’t want to share because it’s that special. The food is absolutely amazing — consistently fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. But what really sets this place apart are the people. Greg and Donna, the owners, make you feel like family the moment you walk in. Their team is just as wonderful, and I have to give a special shout-out to Tyler (aka Leroy), whose warmth, humor, and service always make the experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic food, authentic people, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, this is it. The Rustic Rooster is easily one of my top spots in Vermont — a true local secret that’s worth discovering.
