We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Alpine Hall, thanks in large part to our server, Queenie. She was attentive from the moment we sat down, incredibly friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout our meal. Her timing was perfect, her recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel truly welcome.
Queenie elevated the entire experience and made our visit memorable. Alpine Hall is lucky to have her—highly recommend asking for her if you dine here!

My husband and I had a late lunch there today… What a lovely place! Our waitress, Lisa, was so nice! The mussels were excellent! I get mussels everywhere I go! These were delicious. My husband’s burger was cooked perfectly. Thank you Alpine Hall!🙂 Can’t wait to go back!

After trying multiple places in Stowe that were unable to seat us we decided to drive up to Alpine Hall at the Lodge. Timing is everything. The massive breakfast crowd had just left and checked out, so we had the whole place to ourselves. We sat at the bar to order food and enjoyed a cocktail. Brian took care of us and was super friendly and responsive. The cristo and fried chicken sandwiches were excellent, and the butternut bisque was amazing. Brian shared some places for us to sight see before leaving. The property is beautiful with fireplaces and cozy spots to hang out. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Recommend stopping here, just check the peak times and steer clear of the crowds.

I have never had service so poor that it affected my meal so much. Our main problem was that they served the appetizer, salads and main courses within 5 minutes of each other. We hadn’t finished our appetizers when the salad arrived. Hadn’t even started on the salad when the main course arrived (still working on the appetizers). There was no room on our table of 2 for so many dishes, so they slid over a 4 person table and we ended up being 2 people at a 6 person table. Needless to say, our main courses were cold by the time we finished the appetizers and cold mashed potatoes and steak were just bad. And this wasn’t because the restaurant was full; there was only one other table occupied, so you can’t blame the kitchen on being overwhelmed or distracted.
The poor service wasn’t just the server. The hostess at the front of the restaurant was on her phone drinking a tea when we arrived. She was dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt so we weren’t even sure she was the hostess. But she was and she looked very disinterested in seating us. Absolutely no pleasantries or smile.
And at the end of the evening we told the server we would be charging by the meal to the room. She brought us a bill but no pen to sign. And then she disappeared and we had to wait another 5 minutes to ask for a pen.
Sometimes I read restaurant reviews and skip over the ones that complain about service because I think how bad can it be? It won’t affect my meal. Well, the poor service here was so bad it did affect my meal and wanted to make sure others, including the restaurant are aware of it.

Quite the disappointment honestly. They took 10 solid minutes to acknowledge us at the host stand. The service was fine, but the burger was horribly disappointing. Tasted like a cafeteria burger that had been frozen for a year. The kids pasta was mushy and overcooked and my son wouldn't touch it. Caesar salad had practically no dressing, and the turkey burger was tiny. Definitely WAYYYY overpriced and would not recommend it to anyone. Seriously go somewhere else.

Our second time here during our stay at the Lodge and loved it again. Our wait staff, Chi, was amazing. It's a busy evening at the restaurant and Chi provided great service and food recommendations.

Worst experience ever. Made a room service order at 8:15am. 2.5 hours passed nobody showed up. I went down to restaurant and have been told that nobody saw my order. We missed our breakfast and had to get a lunch.
You cant get a hold of anyone over the phone. NEVER MAKE ONLINE ORDER HERE!
The best of three restaurants we’ve dined at in Stowe

Comically awful. I’ve never felt the need to leave a restaurant a poor review but this place really earned it. The bench we sat on had stained and food crumb covered cushions. The table was wet. Caesar salad legitimately did not have dressing, just some lettuce and a couple sardines on top– there’s no note of sardines on the menu, nor did the server mention it. Main entree, steak, wasn’t even edible. Didn’t come with listed sauce, server let me know they were out of it after it was already in front of me, so they served it with ketchup instead. Do you know how bad a steak needs to be for me to not even be willing to take a second bite? Server took away my 95% uneaten steak without a question. Fries were actually pretty good, tasted like McDonald’s fries with parmesan cheese. Chocolate cake for dessert was good too. I feel bad for the server if anything, would’ve appreciated better service for sure but the restaurant is setting them up for failure from the start by having them serve lettuce and sardine salads and rubber steaks.

I’m super picky about burgers these days. Stopped on Thursday this week & got an O.G. and Cajun dusted fries and can’t wait to go back! It was so good and fresh! So glad you are in Vermont !

This review is really mainly about one truly exceptional employee by the name of Josh Aquino. Josh is a real asset to Spruce Peak Mountain Lodge. He goes out of his way to make sure his customers are having the best experience possible. He is a terrific bartender/server, no doubt, but he does so much more than that. Our first night at the lodge we were fortunate to meet him and he helped us out in so many ways for our entire vacation. This guy is a gem! Ask for him!!!
