Service was good but you had to get your own water and the glasses were small. Steak sandwich was really good, but onion cheese sandwich wasn't great and didn't have enough onion. Seating was comfortable and you could have your dog with you there.

We have been coming to this lodge for the last 3 years. The service at hourglass has become increasingly frustrating. Depending on who you are or the mood of the hostess the wait can be immediate or over an hour. They push the buffet in solstice but in the afternoon when you want to get back out skiing - this seems gluttonous. There may be a paucity of wait staff but I feel like management should anticipate when there is high occupancy that comes with high season. They should convert solstice to the same hourglass menu and utilize the staff that isn't that busy.

I have very mixed feelings about Hourglass. The food is typically very tasty, a little overpriced but this makes sense for it being Stowe. I have stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge for about 5 winters in a row now, and have noticed that the service has gotten progressively worse at Hourglass. In previous years, the wait staff has always been friendly and service has been consistent but sparse. This winter (December 2019) has been by far my worst experience at Hourglass. When first being asked to be seated, the hosts are very disorganized. Once you are seated, it consistently takes the wait staff 20 minutes to even get to your table. We had to get into the habit of knowing everything we wanted to order all at once because it was impossible to get anyone's attention. The wait staff is clearly spread thin (and some of them have been somewhat rude as a result of the stress) and it does not seem like management is doing anything to address this. They are usually busy considering that it is in such a convenient location but they absolutely need to work on improving the service.

My family and I had lunch here one day, in between skiing. The food was excellent. We ordered the grilled cheese which was very good and the hot chicken sandwich which is was amazing! Seriously still thinking about it. Would have eaten there more often during our stay but the restaurant is a little pricey. Otherwise delicious and very nice server!

20-30 minutes wait before a waiter shows up, 20-30 minutes before the food comes. And 22$ for 6 pieces of dry rice wrapped around small chunk of salmon - sounds delish! Come visit!

Could be good if someone cared enough about the people that are paying a fortune for over priced food. Rude staff, long wait times. Unfortunately you don't have many other options if you are staying at the Lodge. I'd recommend, having a drink there, but getting your own food and cooking in your room. We ate here 3 times and each time was equally bad and possibly the worst dining experience we've had in 2 years of living in New England. Why 3 visits? No other choices, it was thanksgiving so we were desperate for a dining experience, and each time we hoped it might be a fluke that it was so bad. I gave it 1 more star than it should because it has a nice fire.

My husband and I were staying at The Lodge at Spruce Peak for the long weekend. This was our 3rd visit at the resort and 2nd time trying Hourglass. We had a busy day and just wanted to stay in the resort for the night. We also had a big lunch early in the day so wanted just a snack and a few drinks. We headed for Lounge and asked if there were any tables available. While their weren't any tables there were many seats available at the bar! The bartender was very friendly and we were given a drink and food menu right away. I didn't see any drinks that stuck out to me, so I decided to stick with the maple lemonade. It was SO good, I had 2! My husband had a cider on tap and he also enjoyed it. All of the items on the food menu sounded really great and it was hard to decide! I wish we had enough room to enjoy a full dinner! We decided on the pulled chicken nachos and then figured we would get a dessert to split. The nachos were delicious and portioned very well! It was a larger portion which came out on a tray right out of the oven. They were so good we finished the entire thing. I could not pass up on dessert and again, everything sounded yummy! My husband is a big creme brûlée fan so we chose the chocolate creme brûlée. The presentation was beautiful, and it tasted wonderful! We finished the whole thing! If you are staying at The lodge I highly suggest staying in for a night and eating at Hourglass, or even getting a drink prior to your dinner. I'm not sure why Solstice has so many negative reviews but the food at Hourglass seems to come from the kitchen of Solstice, and it was very tasty and presentable. Definitely a must try in Stowe especially if staying at the lodge!

On a rainy day we decided to have lunch at the Hourglass, a comfy restaurant located beside the excellent Solstice Restaurant and overlooking the busy lobby at Stowe Mountain Lodge. The Hourglass shares the Lodge Kitchen with Solstice which is not open for lunch and is great for a tasty lunch or casual dinner. We started with the delicious Roasted Tomato Soup served with toasted cheese Dippers This is quite a treat on a cold, rainy day. Next we decided to share two appetizers, the Roasted corn with feta and a yummy hummus dish. All this was washed down with the wonderful local artisan hot tea. Should you like something stronger, the Lodge Bar adjoins Hourglass. Picturesque views of the Mountain and Resort Village along with a warm fireplace make this a delightful choice for lunch. The very helpful wait staff reflect a very well managed Team at this stellar resort. O

The restaurant is located at The Lodge at Spruce Peak and offered outdoor seating. Nice menu. Good salad and great drinks. Great to check out since there's so much to see at The Lodge.

I ate there all 3 nights I stayed and all the dinners were terrific. The bar makes good drinks, especially if you have special requests. Well worth it!

We went to Hoursglass “restaurant”. They made us dine in the dark (I had to use my cell phone’s flash light to read the menu…) and the explanation was that the other part of the restaurant was closed because they had only two waiters (…so what?? It is not my problem…). We spent almost 100 dollars for two cheese burgers, two sandwiches, and two minuscule dishes of pasta for the kids.

Dreadful. There are very few food options at the mountain which aren't cafeterias so we tried Hourglass. I had the chicken sandwich which was bland. My boyfriend had the burger which was also nothing to write home about. Two bland mains and two beers each - $80!!! Avoid! After that experience we avoided lunch at Stowe mountain completely and had a late lunch at Matterhorn instead. Way better food and half the price.
