We went on a nice, warm fall Friday night. Thought it was the best environment in Stowe! Really friendly staff, dog friendly, and nice places to hang before and after dinner.

We had the best lunch! The grain bowl with pumpkin, beets, and sweet potatoes was out of this world! My husband had the Vermont mac & cheese ... he loved it! Our server and bar tender were top notch; i even casually mentioned the music was a bit too loud, and they instantly fixed it! Superb experience!

One of the best beers I've had. Pink n Pale if you love grapefruit you don't wanna miss this one. Highly recommend!! Notch burger was excellent as well.

The back patio was beautiful. The fritters, notch burger and wings were delicious. Dogs are allowed on the patio, which we loved. Dave our waiter was fantastic. We will be back!

The grilled chicken burger was as dry as the Sahara desert, salmon was also very dry and lacked seasoning.

Would avoid this establishment as there are lots of other great restaurants in Stowe.

We tried the Notch Burger — my wife loved it, but it wasn’t really my favorite. The cheddar fritters were just okay, but the Classic Caesar salad was very tasty and the peach sangria was excellent — refreshing and well-balanced. Overall, a positive experience with some great highlights.

This place hits all the right spots.

Stopped in for lunch. Service was outstanding. The food was excellent. Cool, inside seating or outdoor patio available.

We had the Ruben Sandwich, the Veggie Burger, a side of Mac and cheese (kid's portion!) and some of the bacon-cider braised kale and beans.

There were some hidden gems that added a twist to what would normally be standard fair.

The Ruben has a pepper relish that added some crunch and a little heat. The meat to cheese to slaw ratio was perfectly balanced. There was some acid from the relish that elevated the sandwich. This is an amazing dish.

The veggie burger has some great crunch added with the onion to balance the soft patty. Great bun that was soft and helped to absorb the flavors.

The braised kale with the beans also have a little heat. A little sweetness. The kale was cooked perfectly not crunchy and not mushy. The broth has an exceptional lingering smokey flavor.

Fries were crispy and rustic. Mac and cheese noodles were al dente with a rich, creamy sauce. Simple dishes done very well.

100% would go back.

Had a reservation and was seated right away. Very cute outdoor area to eat. Lots of drink options alcoholic and non. Had a salad that was very average and wouldn't recommend. Overall service and environment was great, but the food personally wasn't anything special.

The food was awesome especially the special that was a honeydew soup...OMG...so good. The service was outstanding for a busy restaurant.

We’ve been loyal patrons of Idletyme for many years, but unfortunately, staff turnover and menu changes have made us visit less often. We love the unique outdoor bar, and while the beers are decent, the food changes have been disheartening. No more onion rings, no fish sandwich, and the fish and chips come with barely any chips. Favorites like the Idelytime and double Idelytime weren’t on the menu and the slushy machine nonexistent. I think my margarita was pre-made (by them, but why??). It feels like the focus has shifted away from longtime regulars, and I wish they’d show more care for those of us who have supported them for years. Without the steady stream of tourists and its prime location, I’m not sure how well it would hold up.

The food was incredible and the service was excellent. The Notch burger was so good that all 9 people in our group ordered it and loved it. The maple chili chicken wings are the best wings I’ve ever tasted.

Food was pretty basic, fries are industrial, the sauce in the salad as well
You have to pay 2$ more for the cheese in the burger, and there are several additional hidden fees
Service was very nice

Great place for dinner. And or drinks. Lovely garden. Had the 1/2 chicken it was great!

Nice atmosphere and the outdoor patio area has been done well (also nice that you can't hear the road from it unlike a lot of places in the States!), and the small pour beer of their blueberry wheat beer was excellent. Sadly, the food was below average - a real shame as it could be a fantastic spot if they sorted it out. I had the grain bowl salad which came with grilled asparagus - the asparagus was, over cooked, shriveled and cold, thus giving it a marginally congealed texture. The grains were also overcooked, cold and clumped together to provide a less than appetising look, feel and taste. The grilled salmon for an additional $15 was cooked ok. A also had a child's portion of the Mac and cheese which was bland at best. I did a double take at the bill amounting to $54 before tip, and that was with the server knocking off $9 for the atrocious salad.
