Beer good. People good. Mmmmm.
What else is there to say about the Alchemist? Epic beer and amazing experience. Food truck is a little on the expensive side, but food was great. All in all, highly recommend the trip to Stowe, even if just for the Alchemist.
If you ever have the pleasure of finding yourself in Stowe, Vermont, a stop at Alchemist Brewing is a MUST. You are greeted as you walk in by Mel, who is super welcoming, super cool and embodies Pride from head to toe. ❤️ Friendly and inviting, you will want to drink a beer and stay a while. Phenomenal beer, staff and music….what more could you ask for?
New fav brewery! Its so pretty here, the ceiling and walls are all decorated with really cool art. The bartender was super friendly and they had some great IPA's on tap. They have a huge outdoor area! It was a beautiful sunny day when we went here. Lots of room to play corn hole, sit at a picnic table, or chill in the chairs outside. There is seating inside and under an awning outdoors, as well. They had a taco food truck when we were there. Great beer, people, and location! Will definitely be back.
They only have one beer on draught. The rest are cans. I cannot understand why a brewery with such a beautiful property and ample outdoor seating would not tap their own beers. If we wanted to drink canned beer, we would have gone to a grocery or liquor store. We left immediately.
The house that Heady and Focal built. What a beautiful brewery full of personality! Wonderful outdoors space, covered and uncovered. Great selection, new surprises and old favorites. Friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. Don't sleep on the non-hoppy options. Have fun and be sure to tip your bartender!
I had the BEST time visiting The Alchemist Brewery on my birthday trip from Virginia! The Alchemist team was so welcoming, and together with the charm of Stowe, it made the day extra special. My husband and I especially loved chatting with Mel (Virgos unite!) and Cara—such a wonderful experience all around. Can’t wait to visit again!
One more thing- all tips are donated to local non-profit organizations <3 amazing!
The Alchemist in Stowe is a must-visit. Shout out to Ryan Cooke, founder of 27A Brewery on Long Island, who first got me into Heady Topper and Focal Banger. These are hands-down my favorite double IPAs, and they’re the only ones that don’t leave me with heartburn at night — just pure enjoyment.
The brewery itself is amazing: beautiful space, welcoming vibe, and a real community feel. One thing I love is that The Alchemist actually responds to check-ins on Untappd — it shows how much they care about engaging with their fans and beer community. Between the quality of the beer and the way they connect with people, this place is second to none.
Absolutely phenomenal it really is the Holy Grail of Breweries
Tasty beers and friendly staff.

Great place, and great pricing on beer. They had a free bag a
of pretzels for the kids and a free sticker for me on the way out with purchase of beers to go. Definitely worth stopping by!
The curbside/merch staff are extremely rude. I parked at the wrong spot by accident for pickup and was talked down to and treated like I was dumb for not knowing their whole process start to finish. The lady i dealt with seemer annoyed by my presence and impatient. I was very excited to get there and that excitement was immediately crushed by this negative interaction.
The beers are very good although most of them are served in cans only? The outside seating area is nice and the jamaican food truck they have on site was amazing.
If they hired some staff with decent customer service skills and served more beers draft this would be a 5 star review instead.
Great venue with fantastic beers, but the $25 tour isn’t really worth it. It felt more like a class on the environment and recycling than a beer or brewery tour. The guide did a great job, but the tour could use more focus on the beer itself.
Beer was surprisingly good for someone who doesn’t care for IPAS. The space was really cool and big. I’d have given a better rating if it didn’t feel like I was at a children’s theme park. There are children running and screaming everywhere. I literally just looked over to find a toddler with his pants down, peeing in the middle of the grassy space.
The Alchemist is an IPA lover’s dream — their specialty is bold, hoppy beers. Personally, IPAs aren’t my go-to, but I still really enjoyed the visit. The atmosphere was very cool, and the cheese pairing was a fun touch. Definitely a creative and unique spot worth checking out, especially if you love IPAs.
