The best!
Great beer and great culture supporting the local community!
While planning my trip to Vermont, I came across đș The Alchemist Breweryâhome of the once world-ranked No. 1 beer, Heady Topper. Iâd been dying to know what it tasted like.
Itâs about a 50-minute drive from downtown Vermont, so I hesitated a bit, but since the Ben & Jerryâs Factory was on the way, I decided to make a little adventure out of it.
The first sip tasted like a classic IPAâaromatic and refreshingâfollowed by this surprisingly bitter finish.
I read the description and saw it supposedly had the flavor of cannabis.
I was so startled I actually called over a staff member to ask if it really contained cannabis. Thankfully, it doesnâtâjust a taste note that resembles it.
And thatâs how I learned what âcannabis-likeâ tastes like.
The vibe was great, and the staff was super friendly.
Definitely worth the trip. Recommend!
Nice stop for a quick beer. Hand pulled heady topper was interesting. The complimentary snacks were really good, now thatâs a great thing to do.
Definitely a nostalgic visit as heady topper was one of my first craft beers. Overall I was hoping for more from our visit but it was still nice. Everything was served out a can on our visit. Staff were friendly and prices were ok. Their property was peaceful and the weather was perfect. Overall hopefully draft pours happen again, but I will always love this brewery.
We went there not knowing that the food truck was closed. We had a quick beer and moved on to find something to eat.
Boogie bingo was a blast :) Great beer and views too just a block from where we were staying in Stowe. We went 3 times on our trip! Just so good.
Hands-down, the best place I drank beer in Vermont, they had great beer and the facility is really nice. Everybody working there was super cool. These guys know how to do it, if youâre in this area, you really should stop and get a beer.
Iâm not a huge beer person, but we went because my husband loves craft beers - and he was in heaven! They had so many options, and I really liked how the menu was organized by alcohol content, from the lightest to the strongest. The cans are a great size, and you can even grab a 4 pack to take home if you find a favorite. There was live music and food trucks, which made it such a fun weekend outing!
Big brewery that distributes all over the region. This is a really cool, artsy spot to check out although I was disappointed that nearly everything there is from cans, only one beer on tap. No flights available, which is a pain when you don't know this brand and were hoping to try a few options before committing to a full pint. It gets crowded on the weekends, which is typical for breweries in this area. There was a line out the door to order beer the whole time I was here. And since the line was squarely in the middle of the interior, it's hard to move around if you want to find a place to sit or look at merch.

Draft Heady! What an experience.
Absolutely fantastic beer, beautiful and thoughtful space. Free stickers were a bonus. Surprised by the lack of beer on tap; all served in cans, which was interesting.
A must visit if youâre a Heady Topper fan. I got a souvenir aluminum cup with my hand pulled pint. Itâs beautiful in that part of VT.
Best IPA ever
If you like beer, stop here. Inventor of hazy IPAs. Cool taproom, nice outdoor patio, plenty of seating in a grassy field. Great spot.
