We stayed here for the first time over the 4th of July weekend. We had a room in the back building. It was quiet, we never heard a sound from any other room. Our room had a small kitchen, with a big fridge/freezer combo, burners, a sink, dishes, even a sponge and dish soap. We had a balcony overlooking the back. Although, I wish it was screened to keep the bugs off of you, so you could keep the patio door open, it was still great to sit on. We had a fireplace and the room was gorgeous. The only thing I will say negatively is, the floors could be better cleaned. Those of us that were barefoot, had black bottom feet and those of us in socks, had black bottom socks. Around the bottom of the toilet was extremely dusty as well as on the floor under the bathroom shelving. There is one washer and one dryer in the main building. As well as a Foosball Table. There is a nice size gym over the indoor pool. Both pools were very well kept. There is a huge kid size chess game in the back corner of the outdoor pool area, that was tons of fun. There is an outdoor seating area along the indoor pool, with an entire wall of sliding doors, felt like we were outside while swimming inside. It was very nice. We didn't have any parking issues. There is a tall balcony you can get up to using the stairs, to overlook everything. In the back is a huge field of well- maintained grass that kids were playing in .. soccer, throwing balls, etc. I definitely recommend this place.
The two bedroom suite we were in was clean and recently renovated so I'd give that a five star rating. But after 11pm there was loud music playing and many teenagers partying downstairs. There wasn't anyone in the office to contact but we finally got ahold of someone by phone who sent a maintenance man over to address the loud partiers. It worked for a bit but after a while one of us had to go down and asked them to be quiet so we could sleep. It was high school graduation so lots of drinking, speaking loudly and puking. Not a great relaxing nights sleep.
Nice location. Good room. A good option if you are looking for a place where you can walk to many of the restaurant s and bars Stowe has.
Had to cancel due to my COVID quarantine plan falling through. Policy is 7 days notice and 14 days for a holiday. I cancelled 11 days before the President Day weekend. They refused to provide me a refund of half of a three night stay. Every other decent company offers refunds during these unusual times. Not the Grey Fox! Look elsewhere for lodging!

Nice room and comfortable bed, convenient location, nice indoor pool, good rate! We loved staying here and can’t wait to go back! Nicole was super helpful and so kind! Nothing but good things to say here!
This was our first visit to Stowe, and the Grey Fox Inn was a terrific choice. We spent three nights. Many windows offered a great view. The gas fireplace and other features made it very welcoming, but Grey Fox Inn host Nicole topped the list! Can't wait to visit again!
The updated room was lovely - very stylish and plenty of room to accommodate hanging out after skiing. There was a great little nook with a comfy chair that solved the perennial problem my husband and I have when we stay in hotels - he's a night owl and I can't stay awake past 11pm.
Very good hotel. Close to the mountain. Rooms are clean and look modern. The best part that they have pool, sauna and jacuzzi (small one) but that's exactly what you need after a day of skiing. The only minus was that they assigned us to a wrong room and someone else barged in at like 1130pm and then they asked us to move into a different room next morning.
We stayed here for two nights while skiing in Stowe. Quiet, clean and the staff is very nice. The rooms are newly renovated and our room was spacious and comfortable. My son enjoyed the gym and the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Definitely a great place to stay in Stowe! We would definitely recommend this place.
Nicole, Front desk Mgr. Really went out of her way to make sure our stay was PERFECT!! It's rare to find people who really care about customer service as this individual did. We will be back again!!
First off I would like to say I had a great time at style took me 24 years of skiing to get there But I’ll be returning next year. Stowe has the highest peak in the area and a very modern village. It was also nice to see nightlife in the area and people out and around where I feel and other mountains this is lacking after a day of skiing. The gray fox itself is clean, modern, and walkable to a breakfast café and a few restaurants. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi was a pleasant surprise also. The kitchen could use a few more amenities for cooking especially if you’re coming with a family or staying a few days and don’t feel like eating out every night
Overall very satisfied with my stay. When I first checked in I was in an older remodeled room in the main building. The first night a leak started in my bathroom that came from the room above me. After speaking with management, they were very accommodating and promptly upgraded me to a new room at no extra charge of course. The new building has very nice rooms. The beds are comfy and there kitchen has all the essentials to cook. Our cleaning service came everyday and did a very good job. The WiFi worked well and the tv was brand new with cable. I even tried out the swim/sauna and it was really nice. Brand new and clean. I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at Grey Fox and would definitely stay there again. Tip: if it snows you may get stuck in the lot, don't expect them to plow everyday.
Totally fine, nothing special but that's ok. One gripe: there is not really a fireplace. It's just one of those electric things with a light bulb in it. Ours didn't work either.
My wife and I have taken many ski trips to Stowe over the years but this was our first stay at the Grey Fox Inn. We are sure to return! The Inn has a quaint, historic feel and recent renovations have updated it with modern conveniences, cleanliness and comfort. The indoor pool and hot tub area feels new and is very well maintained. The location is ideal with many restaurants, stores and activities close by. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this property!
