Wonderful coffee shop. We stayed at a villa up the road and I would walk down every morning and get there when they opened at 7. I would work till about noon making sure to buy something every couple of hours (there were no signs saying it was required but I consider it good coffee shop manners). Sitting beside a snowy window with a crackling fire across the room and enjoying a delicious cinnamon bun and latte while knocking out some work was perfect and kept me stress free during my vacation. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food and drinks were great. They also had some gluten free baked goods that I was able to take back to my wife who has a gluten allergy. Very thankful I found this place.
Dietary restrictions: They had a gluten free lemon poppy seed muffin and a few other GF foods available and were happy to check ingredients when they were unsure. We appreciated their accommodations.

We were looking to grab a quick lunch, but their gourmet sandwiches are plastic wrapped deli meat and cheese, nothing else. Iced coffee was okay, they left it 1/3 empty for “room for milk”.

Great food. There was one person who was quite gruff, but everyone else was delightful. So I'm betting that person was just having a bad day. But the atmosphere is great and the food delicious. Perhaps the best Danish I've had.

Best pastries on a 10-day trip thru New England.

Go for the view, skip the food, coffee and bad customer service.
Cute shop, when I asked what was in the quiche, the response I got from the worker was some kind meat.
I opted for the veggies quiche instead of some kind of mystery meat. He handed it to me cold and I asked to heat it. They tossed it in a microwave briefly but the center was still cold.
Coffee was luke warm self seve out of pots.
The pastries are very pretty to look at but the one we had lacked flavor.
The dining area is really dark and not well lit, but the bar area is near windows and bright.
The best part and only reason to go is for the view and fluffy cows outback.
When we saw the sound of music album we tried to ask about the name and the coffee guy just starred at us with no response. We assumed he didn't speak English until we left and we heard him talking.

The food is tasty. The service is fine.
The views are beautiful.
This is an honest review.
I do not see the reason for 5 stars at a smaller venue. That is the kind of review that your other restaurants get.

We stopped here for some authentic baked goods. The guy behind the counter in the store when asked what some of them were made of, had no idea and didn't seem to care to find out.
While perusing their syrup to purchase with THEIR logo on it, I turned it around to see where it was made and it was from CANADA! With all the local sugar farms here and small businesses, and an establishment this size which takes in big $$ every year to not be supporting local is ridiculous and quite appalling!
The only thing decent was the macaroons. The rest of the desserts were stale and hard or flavorless.
Such a disappointment!
A bit expensive, but goes with the territory.

In Stowe Vermont you can find the Von Trapp family resort, this is the bakery and coffee haus. Sit on the back deck and you have a beautiful view of the mountains.

Beautiful location, beautiful building and amazing view. I love the wooden details indoor and outdoor which reminded me so much of Europe and Alpes in particular. The chairs inside have Alpine style which I am a fan of. I loved the coffee and the plenty of options they have. So nice to find the Sacher Torte and the Linzer torte ! Another touch of Austria ?? which reminded me of my origin. I also noticed they had Applestrudel too but I didn’t try it unfortunately. There’s a shop inside too which offers so many tasty options. Service was polite and friendly , I liked the ceramics they used as plates.

I see that they are charging for view and location. I don’t mind paying $4 for watery self serve coffee and $8 for plain egg and cheese. When I asked to replace coffee with expresso because the coffee was weak for me the associate smirked and laughed at me.

More expensive than expected, but a quaint little experience. Basic coffee, and overpriced strudel and torte.
Dietary restrictions: They did offer gf pastries but nothing vegan
