Last week, we had the pleasure of dining at Whip. Housed in a beautifully restored former stable, the space exudes warmth and charm. The antique carriage lamps cast a soft, inviting glow, perfectly complementing the cozy atmosphere.
The cocktail menu stood out with its creative options, some infused with local maple syrup. I opted for an Old Fashioned, which was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced.
Service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, with a pace that allowed us to truly enjoy the meal. We both chose the turkey dinner, featuring tender, juicy white meat, creamy mashed potatoes, flavorful stuffing, fresh peas, and tangy cranberry sauce. Every element on the plate was a testament to thoughtful preparation and incredible flavor.
For dessert, we shared the maple crème brûlée, a decadent treat that was the perfect ending to an already exceptional meal.
If you find yourself in the area and are looking for a standout dining experience, The Whip is an absolute must-visit.

Hostess stand was away from the entrance, walked over and greeted the hostess and she looked at us like we had interrupted her, as she was standing there alone. We proceeded to tell her 2 guests and she glared at us and then said but the wait will be 20 minutes as if that was a issue. My husband and I said that was fine and not a problem. Asked for the ladies room and then when I came out she said a table was ready, which was a pleasant surprise. She escorted us to table and slide the menus on the table and abruptly without eye contact walked away. We were then greeted by our waiter with a smile and wonderful service! My husband had a healthy size Reuben and I had a soup, a half BLT sandwich, that also came with a mini salad. The soup of the day was a chicken vegetable that was so good and dressing that came on the salad was delicious. My sandwich was just okay. Ambience was nice and waiter was truly the best.

Consistently excellent food. Healthy choices, and you can indulge your sweetooth. World-class dining in the gorgeous town of Stowe. The waitstaff are attentive, and savvy, and if you engage withe them, knowledgeable and interesting. Amongst, if not the most excelllent restaurant in Vermont.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday with family. The restaurant was excellent from atmosphere, service and great food. I would highly recommend this place for exceptional food and a good time. Would certainly go back.

We are staying at the Inn and managed to get a table to dine tonight at this popular restaurant. The food was superb - the filet Mignon with Gorgonzola and asparagus was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent too. Quite pricey but you get what you pay for.

The absolute worst service at a bar I have ever had in my entire life. There were 3 ppl total at the bar. The bartender didn’t speak or acknowledge us for 25 minutes and acted uninterested in serving us so we left. The hostess was rude too. Terrible first impression.

The vibes were great! The food was just ok. I got the New England Corn Chowder since it’s a staple here.. it was bland with not much flavor. I did not like butternut squash apple cider soup I had a couple sips and didn’t bother to finish. The calamari was 3/10 for me and I think there was mayo on top? Was not a fan of that. My husband liked his burger.

Good food at expectedly high prices (for a hotel - nothing too shocking). Friendly staff. We went on a busy weekend and they were out of quite a few options. Waitress replaced a side that wasn’t allergy friendly without telling us beforehand, which was a bit of a bummer as we would’ve chosen another dish. The pork and maple creme brulee were delicious!

I don't normally leave reviews but I was not happy with how we were treated. I made a rsvp as needed in advance to eat on Friday at 6:30. We came here as a special treat for our honeymoon and were very excited to try the place out since the reviews seemed good, and it was apart of the place we were staying at (The Green Mountain Inn).
Firstly, the older gentleman that I'm assuming was the host or manager (not sure which) was rather rude when me and my wife came to get seated. He was not welcoming and didn't greet us or look at either of us.
Once we were seated we were greeted by our waitress Kathy, we ordered a local cider and beer since Vermont is known for them. She dropped off the canned beers with glasses which we poured ourselves, throughout our time there I noticed that the other waitstaff poured their beers for their customers.
At this point we were ready to order appetizers (the cheese plate and a cup of corn chowder) and while I am starting to order our waitress Kathy cuts me off and states that we need to look over the menu longer since they are busy and food will take a long time to come out then walks off without taking our order for appetizers. This upset me quite a bit since again this was a special dinner for us, we are fully fine with food taking a while since we were on our honeymoon and were there to enjoy the evening with food and drinks. After several minutes the waitress came back, we then ordered our appetizers and food at the same time. At this point the waitress is not even looking me in the eye anymore and is only looking at my wife even when I ordered my food. After ordering, my wife and I agreed that we were not going to get more drinks or order dessert after the way she was treating us.
Kathy brings out the soup first then a few minutes later the cheese plate, she didn't ask if we needed anything at either point. After a little while the main entrees came out and were dropped off by Kathy. I ordered the Gorgonzola Filet and my wife the Salmon, my filet was good, while my wife's salmon was overcooked and dry. Again, she never came back to check on us to see how the food was or to see if we were interested in more drinks. We ate what we wanted from the food and then waited for her to come back, I asked for the check and she still was not looking at me but at my wife instead. I paid the bill which came out to be $140 and gave her right about 15% for the tip which was more gracious than I should've been.
Over all I am very disappointed, the food was fine but the service that was given to us by Kathy was terrible and we left the restaurant unhappy.

The food was simply outstanding but the entire staff - our server, the man who checked us in all acted as though they wanted to be anywhere else and we were nothing but an imposition
