Great piece of history here in Bellows Falls, with original Tin ceilings that were manufactured right here when Bellows Falls was in its hay day . Where people drink, eat and meet. Everything was great, put $40 in the jukebox, curated music as a professional performer, really set a vibrant mood compared to normal, chatted with lots of people, 4 separate groups of people expressed how glad they were to have me there.
Then the angry transphobic old wing bat out back came out and screamed at me no dancing and screamed do you see anyone let’s dancing. Just clearly targeting me for being different

The daughter, the other owner, who I confronted shortly after the unhinged footloose situation told me just to blend in and that her mother can’t tolerate anyone who’s different or stands out and made it clear and agreed. She targeted me. The other Owner the daughter admitted her mother has a blatant issue with discrimination and anyone who’s different just a little bit.
Old lady and her daughter and a bunch of people came up to me and told me how awful it was and it made me really upset and I was intoxicated, and then they threw me out
I expressed how drunk I was and how unsafe it was for me to drive and that I needed to have water and that they just discriminated against me and it was a dangerous situation and if I left and killed someone, they lose their liquor license
The bartender did not care. I had just ripped her $20 on a $50 tab after the owner of the restaurant was unhinged with me. Ironically, I was in earlier in the day, doing some work and had lunch and said that there was a reputation in the queer community that this establishment was not safe for queer people and then I didn’t see it or understand

I cannot believe I’m having to write this review after how much I praise them for how great their food was and thank them for creating a safe space and then later that night to have this unhinged scene unfold is heartbreaking. Outrageous and ruined my week weekend.

This places is deceiving. It may be a bar but they have hands down the best burgers and steak bombs anywhere around! And they have these huge tater tots with bacon and cheese inside! Ay some pool, have a beer and eat some amazing food!
Sympathetic pub where everybody knows each other.When visiting an area, walking around to admire architectural is one thing, but meeting local people who really give the city’s vibe is one of the best part of the experience. This pub is a good spot to mingle with people.

Let me tell you. I would give this place an -10 review if I could!!!! Our experience here was horrible. We were 5 hours from home, our truck engine blew on Rt 91. We walked 2.5 miles in 20 degree weather to a tavern/ restaurant . We walked in and everyone had glared at us . We had ordered a drinks. We were respectful and the bartender was not welcoming at all. Very cocky attitude. Very disrespectful as if we were homeless off the streets. The gentleman I was with, was very respectful to the patrons. Asked questions with where the nearest hotel was and if there were Ubers in the area. They were almost teasing him and giving him false information to make fun. They were not welcoming at all. . We were there for 45 min. Had a few drinks, 3 Rum n Cokes 2 shots of fireball and 1 domestic beer small bag of chips. ….and our bill was mysteriously $80. She over charged us. Big time!! She refused to tell us how the bill was broken down. When we questioned, 2 guys surrounded my colleague, and told him it was time to go. He had told the 2 men that he paid for his drink and he would like to finish it. She responded that it’s closing time n u need to go. Then she took my glass and dumped my drink down the drain without me taking my first sip. The gentleman I was with, she asked to leave. Because he questioned the bill. We were not drunk, hostile, or violent. We were there for a total 45 min. He refused to leave because he wanted to finish his drink he paid big bucks for. I am uphauled by the service in this bar. I will tell everyone NOT to go this bar. They do not treat people who are out of town well. I’m very upset with my experience here and I will NOT rest until I am satisfied with the outcome. I will not rest until justice is done. Could you imagine if I was an journalist or better yet, someone auditing the establishment?

It's a pleasant relaxing place, all the staff are very friendly and enjoyable to chat with, and they get things done very quickly and efficiently.
