Really lovely space in an old tavern in Vermont. Food was extremely good for the location and the service was pleasant and welcoming.

Food was amazing! Cozy atmosphere and wonderful staff! Will definitely be back!

Jane had the Chicken Madeira and I had the Seared duck, both meals were served with fresh garden green beans and mashed potato, started with the little leaf garden fresh salad with Gorgonzola and pear prosciutto flatbread, and the stuffed pepper soup, pumpkin cake for the finish, really good!!!

We went at around 3 because from 3-5PM there is a special menu if you are looking for great food, appetizers and main dishes, before most folks dine. They have a large wine cellar and many interesting drinks. Lower prices at this time it feels; gourmet food, served with great care. Excellent Asian, fish and other dishes - truly a delight. Look at menu! In fine weather there is outside eating surrounded by garden. Unique - truly one of a kind. The chef and waitpersons are helpful and friendly. No sense of hurry. Don't miss this! I discovered Leslie’s Tavern in Rockingham, VT by chance while traveling, and what a hidden gem it turned out to be! After a long day of work, I stopped in without a reservation and was warmly welcomed and seated right away. The cozy atmosphere, complete with charming cat décor, instantly won me over as a cat lover.
I ordered the seafood pescatore special, and it was absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The wine selection complemented the meal beautifully, and the desserts were just as memorable. I enjoyed the experience so much that I found myself thinking about it all week and returned just a few days later with a reservation.
On my second visit, I had the seafood pescatore again, and my husband ordered the chicken Madeira entrée—both dishes were exceptional. We ended the evening with crème brûlée and carrot cake, which were the perfect finish to an already incredible meal.
The staff, along with the chef’s wife, are warm, attentive, and make you feel right at home. I would happily drive an hour each way to dine here and will be bringing all of my family and friends in the future.
