Some of the best pie I've ever had came from Poorhouse Pies. Sweet, savory, hands helds, you can't really make a wrong choice here! They don't ship, so you will have to pop in to pick up your new favorite pie next time you're in town. Worth the trip every time!

I'm giving you a good review in advance of visiting your store. I just saw the CBS Sunday Morning segment on Poorhouse Pies and simply cannot wait to visit your store next time I'm in the area visiting family. I currently reside in Virgina. Thank You!

We stopped by on the way home on a whim. We picked up a gluten free Bacon Spinach Quiche pie and a couple of gluteny pocket pies. I must say, the Quiche was excellent! The amount of bacon alone made it worth it. The Raspberry Almond pocket pie - oh my gosh! World class, amazing, wicked, one of the best ever, etc. How had I not had one before! So, good! We'll be shopping here more regularly from now on.

We stopped at Poorhouse Pies and were so glad we did! We started with three egg, bacon, and cheese hand pies that were very good; flaky, flavorful, and filling. Even my super particular kiddo enjoyed them. They were maybe just a touch too spicy for the littles, but overall we were pleasantly surprised.
Next came the donuts (special donut day), and wow! My husband, who never likes apple fritters, loved theirs. It was perfectly sweetened with cinnamon, and there were chunks of apple throughout the dough. Very different from the typical fritter, but in the best way. The cake donut with sprinkles was crunchier than what my child usually prefers, so it wasn’t their favorite, but my husband and I both found ourselves really liking it. The Boston cream donut was also a hit; the dough was light, and once you got to the filling, it was nicely balanced in sweetness without being over the top.
The line was wrapped around the driveway and down the road with everyone waiting for their donuts, but we were glad it was worth the wait. That said, I would personally recommend changing how the donuts are displayed. Having them all out in the open makes it easy for people to talk over them, which isn’t very sanitary. A tall wheeled rack or enclosed display would save space and keep them fresher and cleaner.
We also picked up a pulled pork mac n’ cheese pie to enjoy later this week, and we’re already excited to dig in.
Overall, Poorhouse Pies delivered delicious pies and donuts with a unique twist, and we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing! That’s the one word to describe Poorhouse Pies! We have tried the savory pies and the sweet pies and they are all Fantastic! The chicken pot pie is our families favorite. Suzanne, the owner, has gone above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied. This is an incredible small business and would recommend them to ALL!

What can I say about this place that I'm sure baby already been stated? The pies are delicious, and are worth driving a distance for. Their quiches are great, the doughnuts are yummy, and it still operates on the honor system in terms of payment (don't screw this up). Welcome to Vermont!

Visiting from Wisconsin, our air bnb was right up the highway. Tried on Sunday 10/5 but the line was long already at 7 am. Bought some pies on Wednesday and man, worth it. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious. Other family members we were with enjoyed the very berry crumble, maple bourbon pecan pie and a very nicely done apple pie. Can definitely understand how these pies sell out so quickly.
